Why are people so mean to each other. This is the internet... 
If you don't like someone...just don't post near them. It is not rocket science people. Even I get it and I'm not all that smart (I mean worldly).
If you have a difference of opinion....then by all means, go for the debate. It makes things interesting. What I don't get are the little digs and comments out of the blue made by people under random posts. To outsiders it looks petty.
I get the whole "I'm defending my friend" thing. But, most of the people on here can handle themselves one on one. Hell, fender can handle 10 against one. But, jumping into a thread and making an attack, no matter how cute and innocent you think it appears, to me is not nice! 
I may be tired and a little cranky from yesterdays graduation...but I really get tired of this stuff. People complain when the forums are quiet...start rumors that the site is closing....then, many people come back and the same crap starts over again.
Play friggin nice people! This is not real life and I personally really enjoy the interaction...but come onnnnnn! Be nice!

I understand what you mean, I don't let people steal my joy but on the other hand I do like a good debate. If people don't get me, oh well, I don't loose any sleep, I have my opinions and always stick to them, they don't usually change my mind even though I will take their's into consideration. I'm never into name calling, it's childish and when I see that, it lowers my opinion of them completely. When that start to happen it also lowers what I think of their opinions as well, so you have a good blog here for some to remember when making comments, I think I'm not alone here. If you want to be heard and respected, be respectful. Lost

I certainly understand that this isn't reality, at least not in the regular sense. But it indeed is the only reality some people have. Such people are petulent by nature, and most normal people, if there is such a thing, will have nothing to do with them in the physical world.
People make nasty remarks about me from time to time...I take it with a grain of salt....because I know these same people wouldn't say boo to a goose in the real world. Anyone can hide in their home and attack people through a computer. If it makes them feel like they're something they're not, I say let them have at it. It's the only playground they have to play on. I have fun with it and go about my real life without a thought.
People should play nice, but they don't. They don't know how. Good blog, and thanks for caring about us Angel.

See Angel...I have been on here I think since 06' or maybe longer and it is always the same shit different day with people....with some people here...they think what they say should be takin as law and that is it...you have no final say...so when you do decide to say something that isn't with their agenda or to me bullshit....they attack you in heards...but oh well such is life and like the Russell Crowe character on South Park says..."I like to fight"!!

At least in internet rage they can't shoot each other like they can in RL such as road rage.
Never thought it would hit so close to home but my son-in-law's brother-in-law got arrested for road rage and the thing is I was clueless in the years I've known the shooter that he even had a temper. At all family gatherings he was the funniest one and always one to jump in and help anyone if needed.
Rage is rage and I'm just happy to be in a spot that no one on the internet can trigger it in me.

Angel, you need to face a cold hard fact. Not everyone can be as nice as you. For some of us, it's not in our nature.
I remember a while back a friend wrote a blog about the same subject, and everyone gathered around and promised to be good little girls and boys. Kumbayas and apologies all around, with promises for a kinder and gentler MD.
A week later the same people were right back at it, calling each other drunks, pedophiles, rapists, and mentally unstable.
At least this time around no one is coming here pretending to be something they're not this time around. So I guess that's progress.

I have blogged about this subject a few times myself.
I like to post what I think, I am clear and try to be as polite as I can whilst trying to get my point accross, but I will never be drawn in to an argument, debate yes if it is civil, but theres a huge difference between arguing and civil debating.

It's a lot easier to act differently and say things on the internet than when you are interacting face to face.. Sometimes... I feel some people expose there deeper feelings here than they would in person... people tend to show there dark side more and sometimes I don't think they realize it or see it..

I'm not sure the above statement (atleast for me persoanlly) has as much to do with whether a friend or a woman can or can not defend themself effectively or not? as much as it has to do with the blantant disrespect we see especially for Women and Womanhood in general. ( that sends chills down my spine) 
Some of us were raised up to repsect Women and Womanhood, (part of being a man, is respecting and defending Women) That's what I was taught, for me it's a habit. by allowing those who do it, to get away with it unrefuted, only promotes and makes it worse, If a man will disrespect a woman in public forum, it only get's worse in private, but even worse then that, pretty soon we will read some of these outragous names being used daily, atleast when their called on it, it makes them think twice.
I don't do it for popularity, I do it because I believe as a man it's the proper thing to do, If I ran into you at a store or somewhere and some guy was talking to you that way, I would say something to him, not because I want to date you or be your new best friend, it's a matter of principal.This doesn't take anything away from the woman's ability to defend her self or not. It's about a man acting like a man, promoting manhood and respecting womanhood.(which seems to me, is be coming a lost tradition). 
Many of those who are brave behind their screen, disrespecting a woman, know damm well, if her saw her in public and her man or a man who respects women was in hearing range, he would loose his teeth. It's not that women can't defend them selves, they can and do just fine. Most men who act like that, won't take on another man "mano y mano"...because for the most part their cowards..and typically are the ones who beat on women. Plus it takes the spot light off of her, and it becomes man to man.
Many people find this either absurd or not needed, until it happens to them, and they have some Moron, calling them some very vile names, they then, better understand how the woman feels who was being unfairly trashed or bashed in front of the masses...Ignoring it, doesn't make it stop.. it emboldens many of the Morons who do it.
I have been accused of just trying to date those I defend? Not so, As a matter of fact....I have not asked one woman on this site EVER to date me or get with me..It's never happen, and I know many women here both on and off the boards. Talk with many on the phone, I've never been out of line nor have I disrespected them nor have I tried to date them or bed them down..it just hasn't happen. My point is this..because a man stands up for women, doesn't always mean he has something on his mind other then the best of intentions.
I'm a simple kinda guy..(4) things that trigger me...
Bash God...I'll defend him...
Bash Women..I'll defend them...
Bash My Country..I'll defend it...
Bash Me..I'll defend me..
That's only fair...I don't write blogs to cause fights, my blogs are listed.. 
I respond to very few blogs as many, I simple don't agree with, or I have no opinion on.. But when I see a thrashing or bashing of the above I mentioned, then I will speak my mind. I will debate nicely if their playing nice...If they attack, expect to be attacked..that's only fair..

I hear ya girl. It just shows how there really is no meaning to some peoples lives. I also love and respect a good debate but acting like say a 5 year old child not getting a slice of cake is a little too much. I agree with an old Pink Floyd song in which they refer to keeping the loonies on the path. The internet at least keeps them on here yelling and whining, rather than out on the streets committing crimes against humanity. LOL. Well that's my take on it at the moment.

Chivalry does exist, I've met many men who respect and care about women. It's not long gone. They still believe that it's the right thing to do to take care of their woman in everything they do and in turn their woman returns the same. It's not gone, I live my life that way and know others that do too, it's the only way to live as far as I'm concerned to be truly happy. Lost
