It does make me wonder. What used to be considered middle class is no longer. What really has been bugging me is people who come over from different countries, some don't even speak English, yet....they can get food stamps so they can eat, they get housing assistance, a place to live, they even get free medical. I have no medical coverage, I have too much savings to get food stamps, yet barely enough savings to pay my mortgage. Strange how the system works.

Yes,, there are poor. Those at the very bottom of the list,, public housing, too old to work, living 100% on the public. They need our help,,, via assistance.
Then,, there are the rich. The real rich,, who a couple of percentage points in taxes, is only noticed by their accountant and their tax attorney. There are not very many of these.
The rest are in two groups. Those who take from the system, and those who pay for it.
Those who take from the system, able bodied to work,,, need our help. We need to quit killing jobs and repressing the economy, so they can go make their own way. It's criminal that we trap them into the system,, with no way out.
Those who pay,,, are becoming more and more endangered. As the bills start coming for deficit spending,,, there numbers fall, and the resources they have labored long and hard to save,,, are destroyed in the flash of an eye.
Government has never, ever, ever,,,, given away prosperiety. Only basic sustanance - and even that is lacking. Only business provides for prosperiety,,,, so why is our government working so hard to kill it?

Two fish in a bowl, one asked the other do you believe in God, the other replied yes, who do you think feeds us each morning. Now, who are the fish going to vote for!

I agree, we are being kept in one spot, unable to get out of our situations because companies are laying off, our government and State are taxing us more. Prices keep going up everywhere, yet, jobs are becoming scarcer.
