save our greatest outpouring of love for a person after they are dead? I posed this question to myself this morning upon watching the thousands that have gathered to mourn and pay tribute to Michael Jackson. It really makes no sense to me that people wait until a person dies before they show outwardly to the world how they feel about that person. We certainly don't have any trouble showing our anger and contempt for each other, but when it comes to love most of us cannot even muster a heartfelt I love you and a hug most days. Yet, the moment somebody dies they literally well up with the greatest heartfelt emotion that they have in them. I often wonder what not only Michael Jackson's life would've been like if people had shared their love and affection for him when he was alive, but what many of our lives would be like if we could show our love for each other freely and frequently with all our heart.

i was never a Jackson fan, but i felt sorry for him...everyone used him when he was alive... starting with his parents. and then the extortion continued over and over again.
he was a genius, a legend, a star who has found his way back to heaven
Rest in Peace Michael, manchild

What you said Mik and at the same time I've been to a few funerals where the person was a loner. Not many people showed up. They really didn't give much back to society, didn't really care much about others and didn't have many friends at all. It didn't make them a bad person per se', just that the funeral was pretty sad as the funeral home was fairly empty. Got me thinking, how will people perceive me after I'm dead, what will they say about me? Did I contribute to society or was I selfish and live my life foolishly? Something certainly to think about while you are alive for sure while you can still do whatever job God sent you here to do. Take care Lost

Why? You ask?.... because humans tend to take things and family and friends for granted until they are no longer there.... once you've had a serious kick in the gut to wake you up about losses, that's when we wake up and realize what and who we have

He was a troubled soul, but there are few that could sing and move live him. I just wish that he would have learned to really like himself for who he was and not what he wanted to be.

I noticed this when I was 17. You always hear people say they wish they just had one more day. I did. When I found out my grandmother had cancer I let all my freinds know to leave me alone for one day. I spent one day with my grandmother just me and her. No sadness. We just sit around like we always did. Made some air pop popcorn and my favorite pizza. I have never had to say that I just need one more day.
