If theres one thing that annoys me.. well.. a few things do actually, but I havent got time to list them all.. Its when people in stores and shops try to con you in to buying something on the pretence that its something else.
There is a local store near here, privately run family business, and up until recently we have enjoyed buying our fresh meat from them. They have up until now, sold good quality meat, fresh in colour and smell, and excellent in taste.
But on saturday, we stopped to buy some freshly made burgers from them. They looked good in colour and good sizes. We bought 4 of them and brought them home to put on the grill outside.
As they were cooking, I asked Gregg if he could smell something a little odd, he said no, he couldnt say that he did, but I was sure there was a perculiar smell in the air.
When cooked, and put between our sesame seed buns with all the trimmings, they looked great!
Then I went to bite in to one.
It was then as I put the burger to my mouth I could smell it.
Liver!
The burgers smelt of liver! They had obviously ground up some liver in with the ground beef. I know the difference between the smell of beef going off and the smell of liver, and liver has quite a distinct smell about it.
Gregg tried a bite, so did I.. and there was the taste too and the texture..
UUgghhhh.
The dogs had a wonderful treat on saturday, I opened a couple of cans instead for us.
Needless to say we will not be buying thier burgers again.
What a shame! and I was looking forward to my juicy burger with garlic mayonaise all day!!

Yeah...I would never go back to that place either!
I go to a butcher shop and get bison burgers.
Every dog in the neighborhood is at the front door mooching when they get a whiff of the burgers on the grill.

Oh how aggravated I would be. I so hate liver and to think that someone is selling you liver burgers as beef burgers is just not right. I would be wary of buying anything else from them. Remember the movie "Hotel Hell?" LOL

Wow, since I love liver, you just gave me a great idea lol. I bet onions would have topped them off perfectly. Thanks Charli haha Lost

ISH!!! I would have been so mad that I would have went right back to the store and also turned them in for misleading people.
We are doing burgers on the grill tonight with bacon, cheese and all the rest of the fixins. I mix my own burgers with lots of onion, green pepper and garlic, so there will be no liver in them.

Actually I was just kidding, it kinda reminds me of the stimulus bill, you think your are buying one thing and getting another, now I'm seeing the comments here and people won't accept anything but what they think they are buying when it comes to hamburger, but want us to accept a bunch of bull when it comes to spending trillions lol, how ironic. Too funny Lost

There could have been a mistake, Ground liver goes into my boudain recipe, and maybe other things. Maybe the giinder wasn't properly cleaned out, and you got the first batch.
Call them and ask. If they are at all decent, they will replace the ground meat.

Sorry but i would have taken them back and complained I agree. Probably an honest mistake... in any event, I'm sure the store owner would have preferred giving you a credit rather than a possible loss of business.
They cannot fix a mistake if they didn't know one was made.

How funny there was no benefit of the doubt until after my comment that it could have been a mistake, just take em back and complain, or she got short changed lol. Still ppl won't settle for anything but, what they paid for, wish it was like that for everything. If we'd all ban together like this towards what's right whether a mistake or not, things would certainly be better. Lost
