I don't know about you guys, but I've really had to tighten the belt. I don't make enough on unemployment to pay my mortgage, so I have to save each check each week and take just a bit out for the groceries. That won't last forever either. I've been online looking for part time work since my bf and I are trying to start our business. These really are tough times and you can say all you want that it is not a Depression but I've never seen unemployment so high. The highest I ever saw it was at around 7% and I thought that was bad, that's when there used to be lines of people waiting at the unemployment office, I can't even imagine how it is now since I file online.

I don't think alot of people relieze just how serious this is.
Maybe a good time to start thinking growing your own stuff and getting away from this system.
If people believe in God or a higher power, maybe a good time to call in a few favors too.
I think this is going to get ugly..

I would love to grow my own veggies, just trying to think of what would grow well in a condo. Yes Josuha, this is alot more serious than people think.

I would love to grow my own veggies, just trying to think of what would grow well in a condo. This is instructions for an 'Earth Box'. Excellent for apartments, Condos or people with limited space. It can be made from commonly found items at a hardware store or home improvement center.

When McDonalds, Burger Kings & other nationwide fast food chains close down due to no business . . . and when national franchise stores close up shop because people have stopped buying jewelry (NOT a necessity), purses, designer label clothing, etc . . . then maybe I'll believe things are bad.
Too often the general population in one breath is complaining about how they have no extra money & the next breath they're ordering fast food on their way to the jewelry store sales.
And there are jobs out there but no one wants a job that pays less than the unemployment equivalent.
So, everyone . . . complain away while you eat your big macs, whoppers with cheese and get fat.

their goal is 100% unemployement and have homo computerus do everything that needs to be done. what do we do all day? whatever comes to mind. and what homo computerus says we are allowed to do. the bill gates plan for universal salvation. microsoft madness? or microsoft method to their madness.

Yes it will get worse.. the more people are taxed, the less they spend, the less they spend, the less staff required...
the more taxes on businesses.. the less staff required..
and so on and so forth....

Computers will be what will do us in. Or should I say when the computers fail, so will we.
Just the other day, my bank had to close for business because all their computers went down. There went any hope of getting my check cashed so I had money to go spend....snowball effect.

They say you should have around 2-4 months of emergency savings, cash on hand at home. That does make sense since the computers do go down at banks, and well....this economy, one never knows if banks will stay open. The computers were not working the other day at my bank so they had to manually do the transaction, I was just hoping it was right.

Thats what Ive been saying since I was laid off drawing benefits. I dont get enough to cover much at all. Im not speaking of eating out or any luxuries at all. I am speaking of basics. Food, housing, electric, gas for cooking and heating just around the bend. I went to the welfair office to sign up for food stamps and they said I earned to much. But yet the youth of today I saw while in there was wearing $80.00 dollar shoes, pants pulled down to the knees showing underware, talking on cell phones not to forget the trips they made outside to smoke $5.00 a pack cigs and seemed so pleased and happy being there. Tell me whats wrong with that picture? For myself I had a hard time just holding my head up off the floor from shame that I had to be there. Not to mention that I was wearing old work boots I owned for several years, a walmart bought T-shirt and rough old bluejeans. I wasted my morning there getting no help at all. If I could just get a job at a fast food joint I'll get by, but can not seem to get that even. Most of these fast food places only except applications on line now so I spent over an hour with a online app with McDonalds. I'm 50 years old. If I dont know how to do a simple job by now then I should just jump out a window then... I dont have any other options left once my benefits run out other than jump out a window I guess. I hear thats the latest trend now.
