All you need:
Zip-lock bags.
Water.
Pennies.

This works! I have watched it with amazement!
People will ask what the heck you are doing but have them stand outside your door and watch the flies buzz around but refuse to fly into your house!
You will need to do this for every doorway because if they get in they also won't fly out.
Fill a zip-lock bag about 1/3 full of water and put in a penny. Some people don't add the penny but that is how I was shown how to do it and it adds some mystery to how it works. Some day light is very helpful, it doesn't work well at night. Maybe the light reflects off the penny but it works with out the penny too.
Use push pins to attach it over the doorway. If you don't want to poke holes in the door frame I am sure a good amount of duct tape would do the trick.

THATS IT! You are all set. No spray, no traps, no fly swatters....except to get the ones that are already in your home.
Then just watch...they will fly around the doorway but won't fly under that bag!! It is not 100%, on occasion I have had one follow me in, they get distracted I suppose and watched me instead of the bag but otherwise - - - NOPE, THEY WON'T COME IN!
Give it a try, have a fly free summer!!

Edit: I always use the 8x10 size about 1/2 full, though people claim the sandwich bag size works. I say big is better.

One of these days, I will try this. Believe it or not.......the flies are not bad this summer. I wonder if it would work on those pesky skeeters if I left a yardlight on for them to see their reflection in the water. Hmmmmmmm..........

This is a great tip, Gr8. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks gr8!! Anything to help with pests is great advice! Yeah I also need a tip for misquitos and spiders! Any ideas? I found a spider in my tup that had the longest legs other than a daddy long legs and a tarantula!!! Gross!! He was so big he would not wash down the drain!

I have a black cat that would be very disappointed if we didn't get a fly in the house every once in a while .. he will not stop till he gets that fly

It doesn't work for skeeters, but the yard light might help if you have flys at night

Trying this tonight. Thanks!
It doesn't work so well at night, I think that has something to do with the amount of light hitting the bag but flys usually sleep at night

Just flys from what I have seen
If you have yellow jackets you can put bowls of water every 10 feet or so around you out side, break up a few mint leaves and drop them in the water. The yellow jackets come, drink the water and leave I don't know why I never got to ask one But it works!

Yeah I also need a tip for misquitos and spiders!
Nope, just Deet for skeeters and that is nasty stuff Some people claim Skin So Soft by Avon works or tying a Bounce dryer sheet to your belt loop but most say it doesn't work...it is worth a try, skeeters are the worst!

I left something important out about this "If you have yellow jackets you can put bowls of water every 10 feet or so around you out side, break up a few mint leaves and drop them in the water. The yellow jackets come, drink the water and leave" You need to do this about 2 hours before you plan on being there.

Now this is worth a try. There's always at least two waiting for me to open the door to go out or come in!!! What about having a storm door? Do you hang it over the storm door? I think all the flys here would still come below the bag! They like the A.C. better than the heat!

A tip I read...plant mint around your house to keep snakes from coming around. I had a snake under my carport.....but ran him off with a big rock...

This is the second time I have heard this tip this week! I definitely will give it a try. The flies are just about to carry me off inside my house! Thanks for the nudge. Gotta go get some ziplocks and start filling them up.
