Lets make it simple: to be governor of Alaska is a relative simple job as compared to the lower 48. Alaska is a State that is on Government welfair. there are about 850,000 people in the who state including the imports for oil/gas workers, fishing and minerals.
There are not that many roads or cities either; however, the mayors of the Large cities tend to take care of the cities needs.

LOL! Too funny.....Ya know , Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in the country. Make jokes about the poverty and the people that live there.......I would trade places with one of those folks. Do you want to live in a crowded people and traffic infested city that makes you feel like your sufficating in suburbia! I live in an area that you could spit on your neighbor from your bedroom! I have always lived where there was space and you felt safe and free to drive down the road and talk to a stranger and not think they are going to car-jack you or beat you and dump you along side the road. I moved to the city due to the illness of my mother. I would never take that back..yet I have always lived in the country and am stuck in the city now, My mom passed and then the housing market went to crap.....then I lost my job. So, I am here for now......I lived in Idaho and in rural Washington. I don't understand the jokes and the sh*t talk about the people that prefer the simple life. Funny that parts or Idaho and Montana have been such a hot spot for the people of wealth that the regular people can not afford to own anything.....funny how they call us rednecks or hicks yet they want to live our lifestyle......well, kinda. Like Tobey Keith says......Rednecks with money!! LOL. I do not knock folks with money but just don't talk about how we live, fish, hunt and live in the woods. That is what made this country........Funny how I had 20 acres in Idaho that I farmed and lived off of I bought for 20,000$. Had to sell it to move to the West side of the state to help out my mom. Now that land has tripled in price in 10 years. It makes me so sad....How will I ever get back to that? Ok, I may be just a bit bitter, my situation now is not the best....but please don't talk about a lady that has worked hard to be where she is as if she is someone just looking to make it BIG........I guess if there are people to listen and a way to make it do it!

Sarah Palin is NOTHING more than a trained parrot. She has never had an original thought in her life! She can't form a coherent sentence unless she practices. She is, at best, well...trailer trash. She has a degree in journalism, but can't find the motivation to know anything about the real world. She can't manage her own finances. She is now a half million in debt. She is a quitter. She makes promises and then not only breaks them, but then tells you that this is the right thing to do.
The right thing to do is honor your word. The right thing to do is complete what you start. The right thing to do is what you promised to do, not cut and run at the first sight of money.
I want to see her on the ballot. I want to see that woman get humiliated again. It was so much fun the first time, it is definitely worth repeating!

According to offical records, there is no record of her ever being a member of the AIP, if that's what your asking? Officals came out and said, she once was a member, but retracted their assertion the next day, the retraction was from the Chair Lynette Clark of AIP. Lynette said she thought she was, but after further checking she wasn't. (she have been seeing Tood's name) and just assumed.
Sarah Palin first registered in May of 1982 as a Republican, and has never change her party affiliations according to Gail Fenumiai, the director of Alaska Division Of Elections. (who better to ask) She would know better then anyone, she has the actual records.
Todd however has been a member, for a period of time during Oct 1995- July 2002 except for a few months in 2000, Todd is currently undeclared to any party.

Sarah already torpedoed any chance she had at even getting the Republican nomination in 2012. Walking out on a job because it got too tough looks bad to future employers. Anyone who has ever had a real job can tell you that.
Which makes her just as irrelevant to the future of this country as she always has been. So rather than worry about the past, everyone needs to look to the future.
The Repubicans are flailing desperately as they lose power and recognition everywhere. And they're certainly not going to hitch their hopes to someone who already showed that when the going gets tough, she gets lost. But the question is, who will they hitch their hopes to?
The Republicans need to concentrate on who is actually running their party and their future. And putting a stop to the party infighting might help. Meanwhile, the Democrats better figure out who's running the damn country, as they seem to be just as confused right now. Progress is all well and good, but no one's seen any progress yet. Saying you're doing better that the worst president ever (Bush) isn't something to brag about.
I've joked about it, but we really might deteriorate to a situation where it is Mitt "no quit" Romney vs. Obama in 2012. if that happens, I predict a severe decline in voter turnout.

I read this blog because I understood it as a political joke.
But it has turned into the American Revolution!!!

We pick one candidate and make jokes, get all heated up, and dispassionately disparage the basics and fundamentals of the whole concept.
Where is all this energy when elections are being held? When laws are being made? When government policy that invades our rights and actually abolishes the fundamental rights of our very constitution is being destroyed???
Get real!
If you want to joke and make fun at a particular person in government, then do so. But when it's time to get serious, don't bombast one person! If any of you can read and have comprehension, just look at the news on a daily basis. Bush screwed up; Cheney screwed up; Clinton screwed up; Obama is (and probably will continue to) screwed up; Biden screwed up. Name me just one person in government that has NOT screwed up!
But we just sit idly by, say "Oh well, we'll wait for the next leader". We make jokes and condem those currently in office. We "let" them pass laws that take the pledge of alliangence and the Lord's prayer from schools. We listen and accept the hogwash rederick of abolishing the consittutional rights to hold and bear arms, to free speech and public forums. We cry about our tax dollars being spend in the trillions to bail out failed companies and not get a dimes recompense for it. But have any of you ever done anything about it?
Me, personally, I write to my congressmen so much that we are literally on first name basis! We've never met, never spoken via phone, but everyone of my emails are responded to. I call local radio stations and start debates on issues, and from time to time blogs.
I'm not an instigator...but I truely think it's time that we all open our eyes to what is happening. Instead of crying about it, get proactive! One voice is like a pebble thrown into a pond. It skips farther and farther, and each time creates more and more waves.

Well, thanks Phantom for allowing all comments. As I said on Diamond Rain's blog (although he wouldn't approve it for print) when it comes to Sarah Palin, more is better! I want to see her at every town meeting, debate and interview. I want her to speak loudly and constantly and appear at each venue she can. Nothing else has to be done because it sort of solves the problem on its own.

Plain won't run for Congress...she will find it a lot tougher than she has had it already if she does. She is a quitter, over and over again...the press will eat her alive. There won't a recognizable shred of her to be found if she ever runs for another elected office.
No, what she is gonna do is take herself out of the rules. She is going to bitch, complain, lie, and foster hate and discontent as a "private citizen". Then, if the press goes after her, she can sue them. As a public official, she is fair game, as a private citizen, she is not.
But, she is enthusiastic and emotional. She will say things that aren't true and she will be called on those things and in short order, she will be marginalized to just another whimpering whiner in the vast sea of whimpering whiners...

Going back to the original post, it was satire and well deserved satire. The fact is the democrats would pay her to run again ... for anything.
It has nothing to do with her gender as in many cases women have proven to be just as competent or more competent to perform administrative tasks.
Sarah Palin hasn't demonstrated anything other than pursuing her own self interests. It is in her interest to do something about a $500,000 debt she's run up while having a larger than average sized family. A family which has the added burden of a child which will require more expensive care than the average child.
So who can blame her for what she's doing? Her Andy Warhol 15 minutes is now and she can derive a rather large sum from her current notoriety. It would be wise for her to pursue this now. It's self interest and she's doing what she can for herself and her family. Good for her.
If she does decide to reenter the political arena, well, comedians everywhere will rejoice as she is the perfect butt of every joke and fodder for self-written self-satire. Tina Fey didn't change a word or inflection in her SNL routine and was funny as hell. That in itself is a message that can't be denied.
