I called first thing Wednesday morning again to the Nurse's Station. Rhonda was awake, but she was waiting for somebody to come up from Physical Therapy. They wanted to make sure she started some walking, so that pneumonia wouldn't set in. I just asked the nurse to have Rhonda call me at work later when she could. When she did call a few hours later, she told me about how the Physical Therapist came to her room and wanted her to walk to the door of her room using her walker. She said she did that and then turned around and said to the therapist that she was not stopping here.......and off she took down the hall! She walked to the Nurses's Station and back again. She said, "Mom, I don't care! I have decided that I am NOT going to lay in this hospital bed any longer than I need to! I am NOT going to let whatever this is take control of my life! I want to go home, and I'm going! It is what it is!" I could just squeak out, "That's my girl! I am so very proud of you......." How many times I have heard those words from her. It is what it is. I knew she was getting better and better! Of course, then she had to mention that her nurse, Rhonda, was in to talk with her, and she was hoping she was able to calm me down some. I told her that she was very nice......and very patient.....and left it at that. It gave us both a chuckle.

Later that afternoon, Rhonda was brought down to Radiology to have a PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) line put into her arm and also had the drain tube removed.

Thursday morning, she was told by Dr. B.'s assistant physician that she may be able to go home, but Dr. B. himself told her that he wanted her to remain there, and that perhaps she could go home on Friday, the following day. Dr. R. also mentioned to Rhonda that 'the dirty bug has yet to rear its ugly head' to know what it was.

My little girl was released from the hospital on Friday sometime after noon, along with her walker and instructions for her home care. Life is good. Life is very good!

To be continued.........but she's out of immediate danger!

That is good news. Sounds like she may have had some sort of staph infection. Keep praying for rapid recovery.
