Of course, most all of you are aware that former NFL star Steve McNair and 20 year old Sahel Kazemi, were found dead in a pool of blood at his condo in Nashville, Sunday. Today, the coroner's office ruled that the exotic young woman, who was McNair's paramour, had pumped four bullets into her lover, then positioned herself to where she would fall into his lap after she shot herself in the head. Instead, her lifeless body fell into his lap and then slipped onto the floor. I guess in her immature mind, she would have her man for eternity, if they died together.
During the previous five days, she had suggested to friends that she was going to end her life, after learning that McNair was also seeing another young woman and therefore, cutting back on the money he gave her. McNair was also married to the beautiful mother of his children!
Simultaneously, Sahel's finances were falling apart. She couldn't make payments on the Cadillac she bought, and her room mate was moving out, so she would unable to make payments on the lake front condo apartment, without more money from McNair.
MATERIALISM! When will humans see what a big lie it is.
Basically, the girl killed herself and McNair because she would be sharing her lover with another girl in addition to his wife, and would be unable to drive a Cadillac and live in a lake front condo in the near future. Was that all there was to her life? Being laid by a wealthy married man, having a expensive car, and living in the elite part of town?
I dare say that there are many of us on Match Doctor, who could do without both of the Cadillac and the lake front condo, without having the urge to kill ourselves.
McNair obviously felt more powerful by having multiple lovers. Passion without love never lasts and never satisfies for long. He never had time to learn that lesson.
What a tragic waste of life for both of them. They worshiped the god, Commerce, and it killed them.
I think that this story is even more touching to me, because Sahel was a spitting image of my first love, a 20 year old university coed in Mexico City. Alicia was of mixed Greek Sephardic Jew and French heritage, which gave her about the same appearance. Alicia was definitely not materialistic, but I can understand how deep passion fills your soul, when you are 20 or 21. I have never lost my love for her. Her mother broke us up, but I never entertained the thought of killing her mother . . . well maybe drugging her mother and then eloping with Alicia, but never killing anyone!
By the way, my first love is still alive. I see her name on Spanish or Italian language blogs sometimes. We both turned into professional writers, even though neither had such dreams at age 20 and 21! Age 20 is just the beginning of our trail through this existence, not the end.

so sad, and i fear we will have to brace ourselves for more of this.... some of us will mature and learn the value of life with our personal faith to carry us through... but others will feel they are nothing without the things
its so sad as it chips away at those who are left behind  with thoughts of "what could have i done to help". of course nothing could have been done, we alone are responsible for our own decisions.
its really hard but we have to look forward... this is just a moment in time. It will pass and better will come

He should have been home with his wife, he wasn't free to to be dating. There is certainly enough to blame to go around, however the woman was free, young and impressionable. It pisses me off when married men dangle money in front of young women who don't know any better. These men need to be staying home where they belong, and let these young girls grow up with kids their own age. Older married men should be setting an example of how to be responsible, not running around on their wives. Same goes for married women, I am not leaving them out either. People who are single are the only ones who are free to do as they wish, date who they wish, rich or not, but still, married people are not free and need to be at home and this would not have happened. Lost

I think the blame lies pretty much with McNair. What does a 20 year old know about much of anything? Sounds like he's the one who fed her money, and with the low self-esteem that plagues our young these days, she never had a chance.
He might not do it again, but that's no consolation for the mess he left behind.

What made this story unusual to me was the roles...
A woman...kills her lover....
and then herself?
How often do you hear of that?! Usually it's men who are that self-absorbed and afraid of the other having life without them that they kill the other and themselves.
And to have it be a high profile male. Just...unheard of!
Bet that's one male who never thought having a secret pad and secret girlfriend would be HIS undoing.
I think this is one more case where worshiping at the feet of the monogamy god...people get all screwed up when the other actor goes polyandrous on em... I question whether materialism is the issue, or the narrow constriction of human attachment into only one form.

It is very sad and i can imagine his wife's anguish, pain and public humiliation and for this tart to take him away from his children, messed up and for what? ....cant even think about it...so so so sad

The comment about the children is very important. I didn't even think about that. Not only have they lost their father, but in a manner that will fill them with very complex emotions for many years to come.

I feel sorry for his children first then his wife then the rest of his family. After all is said, there are four kids with out a father and a wife who is now a widow. That is tough enough but add the other drama to it makes it a double pain.

Very sad!
Doesn't matter what men would offer to women , how can a woman have trust in a man who is unfaithful to his wife.,from a wife to her from her to another .
I wonder if it's so hard for guys to be faithful to their wives ,there must be psychological problem to make guys go bad this way
