Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, Led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.

The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country," Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

I loved it.........he still hasnt shown it...That should tell you something about this present congress and supreme court...and Obama...all liars and deceivers to the Max..

	It is old news but it was quite a story when it came out, but this was the line that got me......... I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. Has he taken a look at what has been spent since March? Guess patriotism is not a priority to him. It is ok to maybe get blown up, or exposed to DU bombs, but man are you selfish if you would like to be treated for your service conected medical issue, lets not forget if you don't naturalize back into society well after your tour...you are probably a terrorist too.

	Washington Times I saw it here.. But didnt realize that it wasnt written by the Times... But all in all...the fact remains.... Why would he even think of doing this kind of thing in the first place.. I really doubt it bought him any favor with our troops.. Our troops are in a very dangerous place....the last thing they need to do is make them worry about their families and their own safety.... It was wrong to make them have to stress about this ridiculous idea of Obamas. Hes insensitive...and a knot head in my opinion... Ungrateful... If Jon Stewart went after him....Jon Stewart the lib... Then it must have been a really big boo boo to even conjure up this kind of crap in Obamas mind.. HEY...I HAVE A GREAT IDEA OBAMA!!! How about you give back that 31 billion you gave to your little brown shirts in ACORN... Thats a darn good place to start you mixed up man..

An idea...albeit a very bad, tasteless and likely not thought out too well one...that was likely thrown out for consideration and rejected during the INITIAL process of coming with a plan to impliment socialized medical care, isn't at the top of the list...

The so called Stimulas Bill, that is being using to Stimulate his support base, to secure his re-election and as you mentioned people like ACORN, and those who helped in get him in office, he would like to cut Military Health benefits, when these are the Americans who keep this country safe, He doesn't.. Didn't he just order a surge in Afghanistan? he sends them into harms way and then wants them to pay their own medical bills if they get hurt or permantly injured? What a Punk! What an absoulte embarrassment to this country So far as President he has given us nothing to be proud of.... now he only has a 32% approval rating and 38% disapproval rating, people are starting to wake up and see this Joke they voted for. 	Good morning Po Po...how ya doing today! Oh yes..you all...heres another point of view on this subject.. Instead of freaking out our soldiers who are basically living in hell in Iraq... How about instead of cutting soldiers health care...how about cutting the welfare off ....all they are doing in laying on their fat azzes selling drugs...and now that they dont want to humiliate them..they mail them their checks..and now..they are populating the mountains and ruining everything for everyone else ...because they are a bunch of drugged out freaking theives..stealing our stuff and making our lives less pleasant.. It was reported by a welfare fraud investigator that 60% of the people on welfare are fraudulent.. We have an entire nation here, using our hospitals...welfare...etc..and our government wants US to support THEIR cheap labor source... Amazing isnt it folks..when you change the persepective on a subject... On one hand..one group wants to say they are helping the poor..and on the otherhand.. some feel invaded and overran.. You wouldnt let them move into your house would you? So why allow them to take over your country? This is all stupidity...just plain stupidity.. There are rules and laws and there were made for a reason....TO AVOID THIS KIND OF CRAP...AND THEIVERY.. WOW...bet he didnt think about that angle...To actually make the lazy and lethargic illegitamate baby makers get out and actually take care of themselves..Like we have to do every day of our lives... 	The strange thing about this is I'm not positive so don't quote me, but they are Government employees, so they are considered DOD (Department of Defense) so they get the same insurance. I looked on the website for the military insurance and they fall under the same program. So why would they be anymore qualified than our servicemen? I'd say, cut them off first and make them buy their own insurance and save us taxpayers a lot of money that should save the budget and allow the military on since they actually do serve our country. 	Congress and the President have golden parachute health care programs for life, as a benefit for serving their country, their not kicking down doors nor wearing armor to protect themselves, not on the battle fields in harms way, or like we just saw on the news a soldier jumping out of bed in his boxers fighting the enemy. Their in a/c offices and treated like royality, their not being shot at daily or being blown up by roadside bombs. Who in The F...k do they think they are.... to even consider not taking care of those who are defending them... They should be passing a bill to give our military the same insurance program they have, Their fighting to destroy this nation, and our Military is fighting to keep it safe. As far those who are on welfare, they should be drug tested (hair folical testing) just like normal people have to do to get many jobs where they actually work. You come up positive no more check for you, Plus they should be treated like the un-employed (after all that is what they are) and have to turn in where they applied for work. If they are truly disabled, we want to help those folks. but not someone making babies for bigger checks or those who bleed the working people! And if you come here from another country, get a job or don't come here at all, we don't owe you our tax money we pay in for our own retirement. We earned it, you did nothing! In order to get Social Security or Welfare in this country, your suppose to be physically disabled or mentally disabled, if your getting pregnant and having/raising kids your not to disabled. If your going to run for President I want you to consider Judge Judy as the V.P. she can knock out most of the bullschitt in 20 mins plus commercials.We don't owe the lazy or non citizens a living..Get a F,,king job! I got two you can't find one?

	From U.S. News and World Reports: Still, Obama has made missteps with veterans. Just a few weeks ago, he created an uproar by proposing that veterans who had private health insurance use it to pay for combat-related injuries, something they don't currently have to do. It would have saved the government about $500 million each year. But veterans organizations were infuriated and told the president that this could negatively affect employment prospects for ill or injured veterans, as well as coverage for their family members. I am not positive but I believe private health insurance companies will NOT cover war related injuries. Life insurance policies stipulate that payment will not be made if a death is the result of war and that is understandable. War injuries are pre-existing conditions which would not be covered should a wounded veteran even be able to purchase private health insurance. Besides, who the hell pays premiums on PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE when they are in the military when the government provides their health care? Yes, it is an all volunteer force and it pisses me off to no end that Obama and other politicians haven't got the balls to "volunteer" to wear the uniform. How very "patriotic" of him! Can't have these clowns putting themselves in harms way, can we? He and those like him have no conception of what our servicemen and women endure. His ass should be tossed out of office for even hinting at that ludicrous and disgusting proposal! Any additional comments on my part would only result in obscene language so I better stop while I'm ahead.

They live in their own little world..and yet...are making rules for us... Allowing illegals to fill our nation and take our jobs from us... Now they want us to pay for socialized healthcare so WE THE PEOPLE can pay the expenses for their CHEAP LABOR FORCE.. Can you beleive this crap that they do.. They think we are stupid...and that we dont know the crap they try to fool us with...wow... I think this next election will be a wake up call for both parties... The last election was a big wake up call for the Reps.. Instead of trying to be democrat libs..they should just stick to what works...conservatisim... Oh, and as many on here can testify, I'm no dem... I'm no repub either... There are many from both sides of the aisle who served honorably... There are many from both sides who didn't serve at all... My "list" was just to point out that despite what you think, repubs very much the bad guys too... Both sides are the epitome of do as I say, not as I do hypocrisy... They're both bought & paid for by special interests lowflife political pukes , neither of whom have the best interest of our country at heart... Bamasiah is just an extension of the same massive borrow and spend game that lil Bush and his merry band of chickenhawks started...just spending some of it a little differently, that's all... lil Bush had 6 years of congressional control while it was his show, and they sat around on their worthless asses worrying about meaningless crap like stem cells while shit that mattered hit the fan... And repubs have no one but themselves to blame for the fact that Bamasiah & his liberal minions are calling the shots now with their show... Fair & balanced and all that!!!

MY Dad is a vet...Air Force... I do not know of what you are talking about..perhaps you could tell me where I can find some info on that.. Anyone who messes with the vets is going to suffer my wrath for sure... When people are willing to put theirselves in harms way for our country...I think they deserve the best treatment ever..and all they need no matter what.. If we can give so much money to other corrupt governments..knowing that the poor never receive ANY of that money..I think we can support our Vets 100%.. These whack jobs born with silver spoons in their mouths have no idea about hard work or sacrifice..they dont deserve to be in office if they mess with the vets... .
