The Democrat left wants Sonia Sotomayor, a judge who has had every decision she rendered that was appealed to the Supreme Court overturned, a judge who said that she makes decisions based on political motivations rather than the law, and a judge who makes racist decisions and statements to be the Obama anointed next judge on the US Supreme Court.
CONTACT YOUR SENATORS RIGHT NOW. TELL THEM TO VOTE AGAINST THIS LEFTIST RACIST! THE VOTE IS HAPPENING SOON, SO DON'T DELAY!
"I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."
-Sonia Sotomayor
"Imagine a judicial nominee said 'my experience as a white man makes me better than a Latina woman' new racism is no better than old racism."
"White man racist nominee would be forced to withdraw. Latina woman racist should also withdraw."
-Newt Gingrich (on Twitter)

What I find baffling is.. Obama in his book goes on about racism.. but then supports someone openly racist toward whites.
I think the word could be hypocritical.
Seems someone like her can get away with such statements.. but even if you or I were to slightly suggest that our blogs were better because we are white.. we'd be attacked.. and quite rightly of course!
But a Judge can openly say this and its fine? Go figure.

I believe that writing letters until one is blue in the face will have no effect and she will be confirmed regardless of any outcry. Both parties are afraid of alienating Hispanic voters and will bend over backwards to accommodate them. The politicians should be wary of angering the most discriminated against people in the country: the white heterosexual male. There are no special privileges for them.
Sotomayor's statements are racist and there can be little doubt as to that fact.

Thanks for your comment John, but I can't agree with all your thoughts on this one.
Very few people actually take the time to call or e-mail their Senators and Congressmen.
These politicians know that when someone is motivated enough to get to that point, that they are a serious voter who is willing to take the initiative to vote against them, recruit others to vote against them, and maybe even work on a campaign to defeat them.
They take these e-mails and calls very seriously. And they actually count them and keep track. They use formulas... every call or e-mail they get is assumed to count for THOUSANDS of people who feel the same way but never bothered to contact them.
If enough people contact them, it creates a very powerful force to change their minds. But the problem is that many people don't understand this and feel that it is a waste of time.
I'm not saying that every decision can be influenced this way, There is no guarantee that this one can either.
But at a minimum, it will let these politicians know that they are being watched, and that you have a definite opinion about what you want them to do. It has a beneficial effect either way.
The worst thing you can do is to let these scoundrels in Washington think you don't care. That is a formula for inviting tyranny. And that is what is happening right now.
BE HEARD. CONTACT YOUR CONGRESS!
PS: In some ways, contacting your Congressmen and Senators is a surer and more powerful way to influence government policy than voting.

I worded my comment poorly and did not intend to give the impression that one should NOT write or e-mail their representatives. Every citizen should, by all means, voice approval or disapproval on any and all matters that concern them.
I just don't believe that Sotomayor will be denied the SCOTUS appointment because of the political correctness so prevalent in our society today.
Most people were against the stimulus package and protested strongly to no avail. I use that as the most recent example where public outcry had no effect. It will be the same, I fear, regarding Sotomayor's confirmation to the Supreme Court. I hope I'm wrong.

I agree, racism is racism. It's unacceptable no matter who's being discriminated against.
I don't like political parties regardless, but I do have a problem with murdering children, allowing gays to adopt children, and supporters of the ACLU, which is a pretty name for all kinds of nonsense.
Sotomayor also has a radical pro-abortion record.

Sometimes I tend to agree with John a bit, Look at the Tea Parties where tens of thousands showed up and they just passed it off as a few discontented people lol. Tea Parties are still on going with people of all kinds, Dems, Independents, Reps, etc. and they get ignored by the Gov't and many of the media. I'm sure many of them write to their Congressmen too, it's just Obama seems to get a free pass to do as he wishes for some reason Diamond, I just don't get it. I think it will come back tho. Lost

I don't get it, is there a black man's fire fighting manual, a white man's fire fighting manual and the test was based on the white man's manual.

Exactly right.
There was only one fire fighting manual. Everyone was expected to understand that manual and had to play by the same rules.
Judge Sotomayor made a racist decision to punish the white firefighters who worked hard and legitimately passed the test.
Thank heavens her decision was OVERTURNED on appeal. And now Obama wants to put this racist on the Supreme Court.

Very few people actually take the time to call or e-mail their Senators and Congressmen. Come on Bro...85% of the public couldn't NAME their Representative or State Senators! And I'm being very conservative with that percentage also!

I'm mixed race Mexican Cherokee and White, I have dated many and know many Boricuas (Puerto Ricans) most of my friends are Boricua, from New York and New Jersey, They are very "Anti Sotomayor" even they believe, she is racist and a bigot. Boricuas are a very proud people, but equally as proud of being a US citizen, Their proud a Boricua has risen to her status, but embarrassed of her racial ways and racial comments. Just as many balcks here locally I know who voted Obama and wer excited to see a black man rise to his status, are now very disappointed they voted for him, and feel he is making a bad impression, that will hinder a future black man or woman from achieving that level again.
Their not happy with what he's doing to this country and economy, and are embarrassed he's traveling the world apologizing for our success. A success they helped build and now enjoy. His mantra of Hope and Change, they feel are lies to cover up his real intent and reminds them of days gone by, Roped and Chained

I posted this similar comment in facebook too.
I don't think sotomayor stands by her experience and belief.
If she regrets what she said 10 years ago about wise latino woman comment in front of judicial hearing in front of congress, she will regret 10 years later about what she said to congress.
What she said is not credible.
