I choose not to hang around with people that I perceive as shallow
and I choose not to listen to whining
and I choose not to tolerate hate in my presence
and I choose to be surrounded by truth

Yes, I choose to be colorblind when looking at skin
and I choose to just try the best I can
And choose not to stand by and advocate by my inaction
Cruelty at all

I also choose not to raise your children cause you don't want to
and I choose to not get drowned in that emptiness
I choose not to be a slave to what other people think
Cause sometimes they don't and I do and they don't like it
Because I choose to.

I choose not to understand when I hear "I Had No Choice"
and I choose to do what I want to do
Float my boat, row really hard, do what I have to do
Because I choose to.

And no, I won't be with you
Because I choose not to.
