How many of us can say that we got an "A" in intuition? in visual thinking? or in kinaesthetic intelligence? for example. School is set up to be a paradigm for reality and that paradigm limits us. It gives us a handle on how to live in the world and it also keeps us confined within its paradigm.

* Linguistic Intelligence. An ability to use language, auditory skills.
* Logical-Mathematical Intelligence. Ability to think logically, sequentially, and numerically.
* Spatial Intelligence. Ability to visualize and manipulate images mentally.
* Musical Intelligence. Ability to hear, appreciate, and play music. Sensitivity to nonverbal sounds.
* Bodily Kinaesthetic Intelligence. Physical ability - athletic or fine-motor co-ordination. Ability to process information through body movement and “gut feelings”.
* Interpersonal Intelligence. Ability to get along with people.
* Intrapersonal Intelligence. Ability to be self-motivated and inner directed.

By not seeing that each of us has several intelligences and different strengths that function simultaneously, and by not teaching in a way that allows us to make the best use of those resources, the educational system restricts and even cripples some of its brightest students. An intuitive student, for example, will only have the confidence to tackle a variety of subjects when his particular strength is considered a mental skill.

A child who could not sit still, might be strong in bodily kinaesthetic intelligence and would probably benefit from a program that incorporated physical movement. He might need ot take frequent breaks so that he could run off some energy and would benefit from exercises that bring the left and right sides of his brain together. Exercise creates connections between different parts of the brain and make it easier for someone with kinaesthetic intelligence to learn.

Left-brain dominant students tend to be criticized for repetitive writing, dry style, and a lack of creative ideas, whereas right-brain dominant students are often told that they have interesting ideas which they present in a disorganized fashion. It is time to integrate right-brain knowing with left-brain thinking and to use the many cognitive, affective, physical and intuitive techniques for the whole-brain learning. Learn to tweak your brain, begin to strengthen the intelligence style that best suits your growth in life. Begin it now!

I've never been burdened with that problem.

I've found that when I was younger in Junior High and High School I lacked interest in school, I think it's because of the way the subjects were presented. Plus, some teachers are better at teaching than others. But when I went to college recently I absolutely loved school, I soaked it up like a sponge and I learned so much. I don't know if it was the difference in age which made the difference for me.

Good blog, very interesting.

but now, the magic will come when you begin developing one those that you dont excel at! and then another when that is done .

i love learning things that were never taught at school, and thats why i didnt do too well at school... history etc dont appeal to me, and nor in writing, essays etc thats why i am on the blogs. to learn from those who write well.

One of my favorite quotes that I think would apply here:

Education is an admirable thing, but it is well to remember from time to time that nothing that is worth knowing can be taught.

I like to think in terms of blending these definitions that you have mentioned.

Rather than focusing on one, I like to sort of let them blend and wesh.....rather like painting with watercolors.

For instance:

The first def....seems to me to go pretty much hand in hand with def #4.....hard to use just one when writing a song , lets say....

And without a dash of #5, might be pretty pointless to bother writing the song in the first place. Unless ya got someone to play it for ya.

And without #6....there would be no one to listen to it, or no where to play.

And without some of #2....there would be no beat......

Without a smidgen of #3....well....the song wouldn't say very much.

Actually....now that you mention it....without these abilities, the song would probably be just another top 40 country song,.....

Anyway....heh heh......I am all about blending them....

Interesting post....

Ok I have part of this one still working on the playing part
* Bodily Kinaesthetic Intelligence. Physical ability - athletic or fine-motor co-ordination. Ability to process information through body movement and “gut feelings”.
I usually pretty good with my gut feelings but sometimes their just the tacos I had for lunch
* Interpersonal Intelligence. Ability to get along with people.
* Intrapersonal Intelligence. Ability to be self-motivated and inner directed.
now these two go hand and hand for me, I get along well with the voices in my head and they tell things to do so I guess I'm inner directed
* Spatial Intelligence. Ability to visualize and manipulate images mentally
now this one is right up my alley I'm visualizing you and I'm manipulating those images but that might be a whole other thing

i am here to add... if anyone wants to add anything onto my blogs that is not related to the message in blog itself or else to add something positive... i will delete it. this is how i will police my blogs in future.

i have had enough of outspoken members' BS on this site, who feel the need to dictate as if they are the owners or bosses here. what are people doing here if its not to find a date? ....just to cause trouble for sure.
