Ever notice how people older than you are,
Say
"why you're a spring chicken".
Now I'm all for spring, I love the season
but I've never wanted to be a chicken
thought about getting some so I'd have fresh eggs
but I've never thought being a chicken was a compliment
Chicken was not taking a dare to jump off a railroad trestle into a creek
Full of rocks of course, you had to know where they were.
There were a lot of chickens and I don't think any were complimentary
Spring however... hmm. Spring in your step
Fresh as a daisy, Spring has sprung
All the conotations about spring are happy
Easter bunny, last day of school,
you get to play outside again
So, if you're a spring chicken
Does it make you happy to know that
your spring has sprung and your chicken has laid an egg
and what's not broken is going south
Thoughts to ponder.

i don't know I have chickens and I didn't notice them being any different in the spring than any other time of year.
