again.........

But this time, Im doing it with complete dedication, no more slacking, no more giving in to weaknesses, no more being tempted, and above all, which has been my downfall in the past.. no more being persuaded to cheat.

I start my diet TODAY.

I have made a list of my weaknesses, Reece's peanut butter cups being one of them.. sour cream and onion potato chips.. If I open a bag I cant stop till theyre gone,, same with Pringles. I will keep the list along with a list of things to replace them with. like anything, when one cuts something out of ones life, one needs to replace it with something, or we fail and go back to doing the normal naughty things!

The skin of the chicken when its all crispy from the BBQ,.. nope not any more.
In fact, I even skinned my portion of chicken this morning, so I know I wont be tempted.

Temptation is the biggest destroyer of diets I feel.. so Im not going let anything in past the door threshold that will in any way spoil my dedication.

Ive got a fitness DVD, but Ive been told I shouldnt try leaping around the room until Ive lost a few pounds first, something to do with strain on the heart.
But I will be walking my dog Rome up the road and back more often.

What started all this?

I went to put a top on yesterday when our guests were going to arrive and it was TIGHT. and not just a tad too tight either!!

So, disgusted with myself, Ive gone online and got some diet tips and recipes.

My doctor told me that as Im going through the big M, weight loss is a lot harder, well Im going to try anyway!!

So.. tonight is grilled chicken with steamed vegetables.

Such a world away from a cheesy lasagna.. oh well.. what has to be done has to be done.!!!

Im aiming for a weight loss of 2lbs a week which Im told is normal.

So nibbling on carrots and celery here I come!

The use of herbs and spices can help also...you know replace the flavor of all those fats.

A great Liv-et food is popcorn...it's not the popcorn that's bad for you, it's all the butter that people put on it. So, I pop mine in olive oil (good for you) and don't add butter or salt (I don't cook with salt, I figure if someone wants it they can add it).

Don't Diet...Liv-et...because if you change your Lifestyle for the better no more dieting.

Nothing of mine fits anymore,
it is hot and I am uncomfortable.
My knees hurt and my ankles swell.
You would think living the way Josh and I do the pounds would just fall off, but Noooooooooooooooo. Josh dropped like 25 pounds as soon as we moved here but me....nope.
About a week ago I dropped a coffee cup the handle broke on the edge of the counter on the way down, It laid my leg wide open (about a half an inch) for about 5 inches.....I looked down, not only was it a gaping wound I could see fat cells...ewwwwww, on my chin !!!!!!! This has got to stop.

So If you don't mind I will join you.

Temptation is the biggest destroyer of diets

Along with complete boredom as I am at times can destroy what you have started. I wish much luck and success on your plan of action. Please keep us updated when you can!

Dont worry...you can do it...

Try Lee Dubelles Proper Food Combining..Its great!

You can eat anything almost that you want..if you eat it at the right time...and combined with THE RIGHT things..

BREAKFAST....ALWAYS FRUIT

Only fruits...cant mix acid fruits with non acid fruits..and since you dont have the chart..just dont mix them....eat those all moring in 2 hour intervals..untill 10:00..

Heres a few you can mix....melons

Melons...cantaloupe, honeydew, crenshaw, watermelon,nutmeg, casaba and bananas...all those can mix...

OR...sub acid fruits.....

Apple, appricot, blackberry (good for diahreah..lol) blueberry, cherry, boysenberry, peach, pear, plum raspberry.

OR acid fruits such as....

grapefruit, sour grapes,lemon, lime, orange, pineapple, pomegranate, tomatoe



LUNCH......NO MEATS OR FATS

Anything you want as long as theres no fat...or meat...

Rice with peas and mushrooms and a piece of very grainy whole wheat bread...( at times..I even cheated and put just a bit of butter on the bread....ssshh..dont tell)

Remember that if you cook your veggies Ala Fresca..they taste alot better and you dont cook the vitamins out of them..

zuccini and mushrooms with tomatoes and italian seasoning

homemade veggie soup...TRICK....cook the meat. onions garlic.. and in sep pot..cook the bones for a long time..cook meat and onions and garlic just before the burning stage..thus carmelizing the onions...then add the water...Bring all to boil...add fresh veggies...boil only for about 5 min..then turn off..and let cool naturally...Your veggies will still be firm enough and will taste great instead of piles of mush..


I made all my own food....

Soups....I would make them as normal...with meat..but would not eat the meat itself..but only the broth and veggies...at lunch..

Remember ...canned soups and food are FILLED with sodium..and if your in menopause..its even worse for you!

DINNER...

RULE #1...NEVER MIX YOUR MEATS WITH YOUR STARCHES.

veggitarian pizza..use zuccinini cut in rounds as the crust..and add tomatoe sauce..and veggies on top..you can add meat and cheese on this as well..The zuccinni takes the place of the starchy crust...

You can eat all the meat you want with any NON STARCH veggie...Eat with a salad....all the dressing you want...it doesnt matter..

OR..if your in the mood for fresh baked bread and butter....Make veggies or salad...and make some bread...and put all the butter on it you wish...EXCELLENT!


I followed this diet..it was easy and awesome...

I lost 40 lbs in 4-5 months..easily!

PLUS..YOU MUST DO EXCERCISE..

I used Callenetics...a sort of soft yoga...and walking..

Drink alot of water to flush toxins out of your body as it will release them as you change your eating habits..

No sweets..but I cheated and ate them anyway...lol...

I would every couple weeks make everything I was craving...Spagetti....Chocolate cake whatever...I would mix starches and meats..didnt matter....JUST FOR ONE DAY..then I would eat it all day long ONLY FOR ONE DAY....then Iwould give all the 'bad/good' cakes away..(depends on how you look at them..lol) ...Never keep sweets in your house when dieting..TOO TEMPTING...

Now I know I can do it!!

The more the merrier I say!.. we can start our own forum maybe Charli's diet club lol.. we can report in to get tips from eachother and weigh in once a week.. (Not saying what we weight.. but we can say how much we lost)

I know you could do it g/f ...........I am always on a diet ugh ...1200 calories a day ...because my knees are so bad now ....I dont move around enough to eat any more calories a day lol.........I go off it now and then ....and yes the big m dont help you can get some really good receipes online from the south beach diet ...........my daughter is on south beach and guess who does all the cooking for her ....yup ME .....easy stuff to make ..........well good luck sweetie

MF do you have the callenetics guide?

About 15 years ago I was run over by a car and it was the only form of exercise I could do to put muscles back together again...
They were great, first time in my life I can remember graduating up to 50 full blown crunches in a month, and my back felt soooooo much better.

Just watch the carbs, they pack on the lbs. Also things like carrots have sugar too which will also add lbs. I know, there is not much left to eat. I tried eating healthy a few years back and eliminated all sugars, all carbs, not a wise choice however, I lost a ton of weight, not wanting to, just wanted to eat healthier, but a person needs some carbs in their diet. I do know 'though that rye bread has the least amount of sugar, well in case you are a bread person like me.

Good luck Charlie, its so hard to shift those pounds,trying to shed a stone, know what the temptation is like. I to love the crispy chicken skin,such a shame all the good things pile on the weight. Be thinking of you as I eat my salad.

Good Luck Charli, I started a diet some time back. Took all the white stuff out of my house like sugar, flour, white bread, pasta etc. and lost quite a bit. Still working on it, but kinda came to a halt. I need to loose still about another 15 lbs so I guess I'll get on the band wagon with ya'll and get more serious. I don't drink any soda just water and coffee, so trying to think of what else I can cut out. Any suggestions will be helpful. My garden has just started producing so I'm hoping that helps. Ya I think tihs should be fun, I want to get back to where I was in high school, I know I can do it. Take care Lost

Great Lost!

The more than do it the more we can be a support to one another.

Of course it doesnt help when one has to cook for other people as well who are NOT on a diet, but what Im going to do is cook all low fat meals, but put fries or rice with Greggs, while I will have more veggies and fruit!
