I generally do not post pieces by other people in my blogs.... however I found this one, which was written by my daughter, to be an example of ... who we are, how we think, and how we feel. I'd like to share it with others.
From “The Apple Press” – June 2009 “a core of truth – with a lot of appeal”
Water Into Wine by Rachel Hanson
“Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the [guests] have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” John 2:10
This is what I've discovered from cancer patients I know, have known, or have heard about: They have the best wine and they love to share it. In the midst of fighting for life, it's delighting over and making the effort to find hats that one truly enjoys, volunteering at a prom for the physically and mentally disabled, putting all energy into being a beautiful hostess, tours and all, and finding life and appreciation in “small” joys.
The second chapter of John tells the story about a celebration a wedding that was underway. However, those who planned it didn't expect to run out of wine, the life blood of the party. Similarly, those with cancer once were going along in life, probably feeling pretty good about what they were doing and what they had planned. It was a surprise when the wine of their good life ran out and they found they were left only with water, what will sustain life, not that which will create a full-blown celebration.
Jesus said to them, ]“fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. John 2:7
When a good time is being had and it ends, Jesus asks us to give Him anything and everything that we do have. This isn't just about survival, it's about having a great time, keeping the party going, not just joining those who are living happily, but living it up to the fullest well beyond what others know.
... the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew)... John 2:9
Those who seem to be running the show might now know where the wine (the source of celebration) comes from, but those of us who are servants know.
“You have kept the good wine until now!” John 2:10
Before tragedy or a threat strikes we think we have good wine, but it's not until we are down to water, to the nitty gritty, to the end of the party, that we realize what sweet wine, what full celebration, can really be made available to us. Rather than settling for mere water when life alone seems enough, it is important to make the most of life and squeeze the very best out of it.
Find those with the best wine, whatever their reason for having it, join their party, and pass the cup!

Now that is something I would love to share with a few friends. Would you ask your daughter if it would be alright for me to copy/paste this?

Cancer will make or break you...we DO have the choice to live life to the fullest or go down without a fight....I, for one, choose to "pass the cup" and keep the party going. There are no guarantees but there are choices.
Very well written blog...proof that " the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" .. like mother like daughter.
Thank you for sharing.....now pass that cup g/f we have a LOT to celebrate
