Under 76* temps of a beautiful indiana summer.....one of the highlights of my vacation was the cheap trick poison def leppard concert last nite.......we started off here with a cook out of brats boneless chicken breasts and hanburgers cooked to perfection by my daughters boyfriend jake......and even though i gave up drinking years ago....I decided to make my daughter our designated driver....and started drinking beer and wine coolers with jake and my friend jackie.....we got to the outside concert venue early and took the party with us.....just before we went in....jackie and i split a pint of jack danials.....toasted was the word of the evening......the first band to come out was cheap trick.....first time ive seen them since the late 70s......they played hit after hit.....and then walked off stage.....seemed kind of quick.....checked my watch......just 43 minutes......next up.....poison.....a tad bit better than the first......CC was in great form.....but their lead singer talked too much for me......inbetween songs....alittle over an hour and they were done.....it was just getting dark by then.....and i looked around the venue and saw a sea of party animals.... just like us .....having the time of our lives......and when def leppard hit the stage......all hell broke loose......from the stage show to the music.....words just couldnt describe it.......and this super group has not lost a step......my daughter commented on how old they looked.....and i told her they are all old......been playing music since before you were born......even told her that she might have been conceived by one of their songs...as her mom use to love def leppard......started singing pour some sugar on me........but all good things have to come to an end......so after we got back to the house......i started drinking again....and wanted to cook out.....it was well after midnite......jake passed out when we got home.....jess went to bed.....and jackie went home......left me there with a beer in my hand wondering why i was so wide awake and everybody else was partied out......makes me wonder even though i had quit drinking years ago.....i can still keep up with the young.....and even put them all to bed after......our generation.....there will be no other........cookie
