In one of my last posts, I mention that my perception of a reality in any given situation is not always what is real. The more I think of this oddity, the more I realize it is true.
Fer instance......
This morning, after a especially brutal weekend of heat, over work, and exhaustion, it is overcast, cooler, and Sunday. And of course I started it with a visit to my favorite place of worship, The Cottage Cafe.
A handmade Benedict and fresh coffee can take the sting out of any tough weekend.
My perception of the situation was....Benedict from plate into mouth. Chew. Swallow. Fresh coffee.....Enjoy.
The reality was pretty accurate except there was some of that sauce that didn't quite make it from the plate to it's proper destination, but rather ended up in a small drizzle down my beard, which I didn't notice until after leaving and getting in my car.
When I was done licking the plates, I waved to a few friends who were there, stuck my head in the kitchen to say thanks, and paid the girl. I went out on to the front porch and rang her bell as I went down the steps. It says to do that if you enjoyed your food....I rang it a good one.
I need a second shower now, but hey....the day is starting off nicely.
At least that is the perception.
I hope I can perceive a dinner just a lovely as breakfast was. Dinner is my favorite meal of the day.
Besides breakfast and lunch that is.
Reading some of the blogs posted recently, I think there a few folks who could use a good breakfast on a Sunday morning.
Some folks seem to think God is a meanie. Or isn't around anymore. Or never was. I guess that ain't the way I prefer to look at things. I kinda like the idea a greater power than me is in charge. Kinda takes the worry outta things.
I don't know....I guess I have had a few tough months alright. Maybe a sort of odd life even. But at least He is paying attention to me. It's when nothing good and nothing bad happens that I start to worry. I suppose as long as there is a Benedict on a Sunday morning from Tom and Bob over at the Cottage Cafe, I can take the rest of the week with a grin.
Thank God for breakfast on a Sunday morning.......
I did.

Irrespective of if your perceptions are real, your perceptions are positive. I think that's more important.
One could say that you ate a heart-artery-clogging-cholesterol-laden breakfast and then walked out of the cafe with a mess on your beard.
I prefer your take on it. I love eggs benedict and seeing a man enjoy his food. That little mess on your beard is an excuse for your woman to reach out and touch your face, (ok, so maybe I might ask you if you're "saving that for later"?), but it's all good.
...now I'm hungry.

Wellllll, I'm not a breakfast eater, but make darn sure my daughter gets a good one. Get everything flowing.
But I dang sure don't give her coffee
I'm glad breakfast went well.
I have a nice pot roast with carrots, potatoes and onions in. You're free to join!

What a beautiful write to read before noon!
I have not heard, however, how OZ The Great And Powerful is doing. I do hope he has forgiven you now, and everything is good again.

*Rings the bell, as I leave this blog* I LOVE that line!
And Tunes, be glad you've got the beard to catch the dribbles, man.
For me, they don't stop until they hit my, um, shirt.
