Yes, Yes, I know. You are all tired of hearing me grouse about them. But now I have a new way to deal with them. It quiets the spirit, and is within the MD rules.

When I hit the comment line and it comes "approval waiting', I type the following and send it:

This blog is awaiting approval.

Copy & paste to friend: (Click inside box; Ctrl + C to copy; Ctrl + V to paste)

You are too funny...I'm not quite sure why it bothers you so much but you go for it! When I first opened this account I forgot to change the setting. The first blog I published I could NOT figure out why all the responses required approval....duh! It'll be ok,,,,,really it will be!

Great idea Tom, yeah...I gripe about it all the time......hey, let people just say what they want, let them hang themselves if they want.
I never set it that way, I like to hear everything, even the jerks or those that oppose my view...no skin off my nose, what ever they say is okie dokie
Their words can't take away what I believe in, what I wrote, nor what others may have written

Actually, I just bypass the blogs that are set that way and move on to the next. But I like your "comment"

just a note here:
if someone chooses the 'approve' setting, they automatically get an auto-generated email with the commentors words and they can read the 'jerks' or 'opponents'. they can then choose to publish the comment or not. most people choose that setting not for 'censorship' but for control of their blogs (which they're responsible for) when they're offline or busy giving them a chance to read the comment first, perhaps responding privately before posting it on their blog.

I let all comment, but; will block anyone that attacks on a personal level.

Well , I think it depends on how open the writer is .If people give me the negative feedback or criticize something I write , I don’t interpret what they are saying as meaning that I am a bad person. Which also permits me to listen to and hear their feedback in a non-defensive way, looking to see if there is something I can learn.

I've read a few I've wanted to comment on but I alway's get you are not allowed to post comments/demographic thingy.

People are missing out on my great words of wisdom.

I feel the same. I used to have it so that only those on my friend's list were approved. Now I don't care. There is always a delete and block tab. I make good use of it or I use to. I am not on much anymore.

I admit sometimes.. after Ive thought of a good comment.. Ive been disappointed to see the waiting approval notice..

BUT.. its a facility thats available here on MD, its up to the individual to allow or not.

I deal with it by going to someone else blog.. unless I know the poster will allow my comment.. then I go ahead, knowing that its more than likely they will post it.

I dont rely on it tho.. cos as I said.. its up to them.

I have heard tales of some awful stuff posted on blogs so I totally respect those who have suffered through that and have found a need to pre-approve comments
I was speaking from my experiences of having someone "censor" my comments only because I had a difference of opinion...no matter how polite I presented it.
It is "blog land", not the forums, debate is not the goal here I get it

And one or two, so fearful of dissenting opinions (and they know who they are...), boast of how strong the support is for their blog (generally comments running "10 to 1 in favor"...), complain about not having enough time to post all the comments, then post only comments that strongly and slavishly support their position.

And not a whit of dissent.

Then they go on to complain about how people of the opposing viewpoints seek to censor anyone who doesn't agree with them...

I do make an exception in my negative opinion or approval waiting for the delicate sensibilities of some ladies, and girly-boys as well.
