PASSION FREEZE

Nothing to fear now
what isn't gone?
What did you
fail to take?

There's been art
music tempering the fire
Curtsies and courtesies
bowing low

What was it all about
What made you dare
leave me with nothing
but distractions
strewn from here to there

It's much easier
now - to leave
So much slower
now - to breathe
I'm not fleeing town
in a desperate hurried frenzy
like you want of me

I simply won't bleed
not for the desert
you are to me

Your skin is fair
silky to the touch
Salty sweet a luxury
how I loved
What I tasted
when you weren't
awake to plead
my arms you beat
How could you be so mean?

Where I'm going
is just a dot upon a map
It's not real yet
but I am

Before I get too far
I'll dust off
the cruelty you breed
It's so much easier now
to leave
