Twenty something years ago one Sunday afternoon I strolled through a department store wearing a suit. When I passed through men's wear I was shanghaied by a salesman who tried real hard to sell me a suit that cost more than I made in several months. He saw me and made assumptions based on first impressions.
First impressions are never correct. There's more to people than the way they look at any given time. Heavy people have personalities. Sometimes thin people don't have one. Sometimes a smiling person is sad and a sad person smiles. Sometimes thin people eat like horses and never gain a pound. Sometimes big people eat like birds and never loose.
There's more to people than the way they live. Sometimes people who live in mobile homes do have brains. Sometimes people who live in palaces are dumber than a door knob. Sometimes people in pickups are the finest. Sometimes people driving Hummers are cruel and hateful. Sometimes a woman struggling in the projects is a perfect example of doing the best while a woman in the burbs is the epitome of failure.
Sometimes people who say they are honest are really honest. Sometimes they're not. Sometimes married people are faithful. Sometimes single people use others like toys.
Sometimes things are what they seem. But most of the time they're not.
Who am I? Who are you? Who are we? We are the sum of all we've done, been, lived, known, mixed up with our genetics, our desires, our hopes, and our dreams. We are never all that we seem.
Before you make assumptions on anyone's profile why not consider them as a person?
