For those following the saga from the house of cook.......for the last week or so.....weve been finishing the drywalling up stairs......started better than three years ago......when my helper quit on me.....and i just let it go....my daughter and her boyfriend want to move up there giving me her old bedroom down stairs as my new study.....im gonna rip out all the ugly vinyl paneling that my daughter has painted pink blue and green....down to the lathe in the walls....pull up the once new carpet....and install a hard wood floor.....going to cover the walls in barn siding and drop the ceiling down about three inches for knottie pine.....going to build a corner computer desk....and build wooden shelves all around to display all my car models....its gonna be my guy room......after that....we are gonna turn my dining room into my game room.....ive already got two corners taken....one has my seven and ahalf ft suit of armor ( see posted picture).......and in the other corner......my 1963 wurlitzer juke box filled with classic rock n roll from the 60s and early 70s..on 45s...in the third corner.......ive got a bust of Elvis.......bought at the redmans lounge when they closed its doors a few years ago.....it sat behind the bar for over 30 years i am told.....it must have....i cleaned that much nicotine off of it when i brought it home....got all the bar mirrors too....and ive got a solid oak turned spindle stand to sit elviss head on...and im gonna mount two spotlites from the ceiling at two diffrent angles to highlite it....and in the last corner.....im thinking pinball machine......maybe kiss......something cool......and in the middle of the room....a six ft red felt pool table......and im gonna build a cover for it so i can use it as a dining room table...with six baroom chairs ....ive already got an antilope head.....a present from my brothers mother in law hanging on the wall of my dining room ...... when my daughter does move out....ill be starting in my bathroom next...and then the kitchen......after that....who knows......maybe a hot tub out back......with sliding glass doors off the back of the house.....thats my game plan anyhow........cookie
