Recently I have been getting alot messages from 20 year old girls. While I am flattered.I wish they would stop coming. After all I am in my 40's and old enough to be their father.Yes a big age difference.I have lived my life and their life had just begun.I read the messages and check their profile. Then I decide whether or not to respond. So far I have not responded.I will not respond to them.I am quite sure those are traps. I maybe wrong.I usually trust my first instinct. As for me.I am looking for someone closer to my own age.Just who I can hang out with and be friends.Sorry everyone I had to vent this.Have a good night.

MD has a bunch of "model replies" to e-mails where you don't really know how to handle them. With one or two clicks, you can take care of business and tell them politely that there is too much age difference.
But you really mustn't worry too much..... Those e-mails are generally from scammers.

Pretty much what travelmom said. If they ask you to respond off-site, they're a scammer, no questions needed. Whether by email, IM, phone, smoke signal, morse code, whatever, if they start off by wanting to hear from you outside of MatchDoctor, you're safe in deleting them. (You can even report them, if you wish. If they're not scammers, one report won't hurt them. And if they're two-timing you--or even hundred-timing you--getting deleted is the best think to set them straight.)

Most scammers seem to be about 20 years old; if you're 60, they;re 29. There's a wealth of info on how to identify these, altho glaring profile mismatches are usually enough. Report-block-delete.

especially when they are looking for someone in the agerange of 18-81 or something like that, you can be pretty sure about it that it is a scammer.

Like every old guy I get those too. The question I have is, what do they hope to accomplish? What's the scam? I report/delete more than a dozen each day.
Just out of curiosity I created a junk email add with hotmail and sent a note to a couple. One answered with a long, poorly written letter sounding like the writer is n good with English. It's kind'a weird.
Who knows what they're up to?

Oh it is easy to know what they are up to it is simply for you to send them money. This has been going on for a very long time clear back to the 1800's here when there was a shortage of women in the mid west and western states so the men turned to mail order brides.
Fast forward a bit and Asian women and island women were the mail order brides of choice. With the advent of the internet and the collapse of Communism the rage all turned to Eastern Europe with Russia and the Ukraine dominating the available women.
There has been warnings for over a decade to never send money to a woman in a foreign country yet there are still men who do, that is the why scammers still exist it is profitable.

Well for a start let me comment on the guy in his 40s : At 40 your life is just beginning and you class yourself as an old man ! There are many 40 year olds still fighting for there country I think you need to sort yourself out.
Now as for 20 year olds writing to older men most are not 20 or in fact a woman they are on the whole West African scammers who are after your cash so all you old men of 40 don't reply just block them.
Just one more comment I do understand a little why many guys of 40 in the states feel old when in fact they are still young ! It is all about the age thing in relationships over in the US It appears that there is nowhere in the World that females stick to such a very close age grouping. (Guess that's why so many guys seek love overseas)
Ladies I know you would all like to kill me for saying that but just think on it !
