http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/18/dozen-protesters-guns-outside-obama-speech/
Just wondering, those of you who may not like Obama, can you honestly tell me that it'd make you happy if he were dead?
I'm all about people expressing their rights, free speech, bear firearms, etc. But when does common sense cross the line into the law.
Why can't these people protest WITHOUT having a gun. When you have a gun on you, and you're protesting something you don't like, that makes you a terrorist. You're using fear to get people to listen to you or do what you want. But in reality, all their doing is looking at the gun you have.
This is where a tragedy starts............
I do not want Obama as president anymore, as a minority, not many people are going to understand where I'm coming from. But I'd honestly be surprised if Obama makes it the entire four years. I really believe there are people out there plotting his assassination.
I would love it if he stepped down just to save his own life, be a husband, father, etc... this has nothing to do with his or mine political views, but a legit fear that this man will be assassinated sooner rather than later.

Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday's event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, didn't need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested. We had a big discussion about this sort of thing over on gunboards. Some people shared your opinion, others disagreed. The bottom line is that no laws were broken but it does make a negative impression. I personally wouldn't do it but if the guns were not used in a threatening manner then it is not a terrorist action. Law abiding citizen is the term here, no danger to anyone whereas a criminal can kill with a screwdriver.
I doubt these law abiding citizens got anywhere near the President but wanted to make a point that they will not be ignored nor have their rights trampled on or marginalized. If people see a threat with that then maybe they should ask themselves why law abiding citizens would risk everything, their lives, their homes, their families to stand up to the gov't.
Now you have do have to ask yourself one question, what kind of person volunteers to be a secret service agent knowing that he will be armed with an assault weapon and get to be close to high ranking government officials? Could be a plant don't you think?

One more point, I didn't vote for Obama mostly because of his lack of experience and his record of voting 100% of the time against 2A rights (hence the protesters) but I was proud of the country that we finally overcame that racial hurdle. I too am disappointed that so much of the anti-Obama rhetoric is just racism.

You can Blame the Dem,s that he is in power. They used Obama to get power....And they don,t care if it cost him his life..........They got what they wanted....Sad but it should make you see they will use anything and anyone to get power....They don,t care for him or anyone as a person....just for what they can get from them!

This is something new in America, at least in modern times.
I'm not sure how to explain it.
Most are middle class from alot of different parties. Many are black.
The man with the rifle was a black man, not white.
Another black man was beaten by what some discribe as Obama supporters at another meeting handing out flags.
I do not think this is racially based. (Although your always going to have racists on both sides.)
I don't think it is just Obama, but years and years of anger spilling over from alot of issues where Americans have lost faith in government.
Obama seems to have been dumped in the middle either by fate or on purpose by the powers that be.
I'm not sure what the answer is.
But I do think that the mood of people today is getting tense; war, economy, laws etc. over years and years.
The political divide is widening and both parties seem intent on making it wider.
I think the Town Hall meetings and demonstrations are a symtom of this.
That is what concerns me.
I think everyone needs to take a step back and take a deep breath and chill out.

The ONLY reason I would not like to see him taken out is that joe biden would be president and that would fast track pelosi's career.
When you have a gun on you, and you're protesting something you don't like, that makes you a terrorist. I dont even know how to resopnd to that. We have a right to carry guns, and to say ...... type that, is ignorant. Those people are proud gun owners and to try to invalidate them as terrorists is beyond absurd. Now if they were holding people hostage or pointing their guns at people and threatening them, I could see how someone could call that terrorism. What about the government holding people hostage with their taxes? Forcing things on us and then telling us if we dont the world as we will know it will collapse. You want a terrorist? Look at the whitehouse.

Timothy Mc Veigh....now there is a real conservative man! Why phuck with guns when you can be just like him. We all have the right to make gun powder and we also have the right to own all the fertilizer we want. Some conservative idiot will probably follow in his footsteps. It won't be long. Keep pushing the non dialogue/violent rights and all the rest of the neanderthal way of dealing with problems and you'll get another mass murderer. A righteous right wing christian seeking to save the way of life guaranteed by the constitution. What a joke eh?

There's enough anger to go around.
We don't need anymore.

In my opinion, Obama's anti gun position is one of his greatest errors. To be effective, a president must pick his battles, concentrating on winning the big ones. To outrage a large and powerful group, many of whom are single issue voters, was a major blunder.
In attacking the right to bear arms, he has alienated a large number of voters, voters who are highly organised, well funded, and well spoken, with a large array of resources. Now, as his program is foundering, those who could have supported him are strongly against him, as a proven enemy of constitutional rights.
He has also outraged some who have military background, state of the art hardware, and highly developed marksmanship. If I had to bet on his making it for four years, I would want strong odds in my favor.
And if he is assasinated, the beast will be loose among us.

That makes you a winner! You can call people neanderthals and idiots and compare them to Timothy McVeigh because you don't like their way of thinking as long as you don't own a gun....that makes you somehow better. =) Peace, mannn.
Anyway, as anti-Obama as I am...I don't want him to be shot. I can't stand the idea. I do believe that people have the right to carry guns, but the idea of him being assassinated is frightening to me. Incomprehensible.
