Today my daughter asked me to babysit for her while she went to the midwife to have a diabetes test done. I hesitated in giving her an answer and in that hesitation she took it as I did not want to help. I told her I had to run an errand that was important in my job search. she was mad so she told me she would find someone else. I called her back and she hung up on me so I left a message saying i would babysit. she called back to decline and then she cussed me out because I told her when i babysit for her she never comes back when she says she will. Well to say the least that was not what she wanted to hear. so I am now not invited to the birth and she told me she did not want me to give her a baby shower and to stay away from her kids. There must come a time when respect for your mom that raised you would kick in. Boundaries are hard to put up and as I work to the goal of responsible relationships with everyone in my circle I feel I failed her. I should not have hesitated. I guess being pregnant and the heat of summer and taking care of three kids under 6 is not easy.  Being a parent to grown up offspring is not easy either
