When i first signed up on MD, as with everyone... the default setting to comment on blogs was set to "upon approval". I asked several people how to change this to allow others (including myself) to comment on my blogs. Only one person took the time and trouble to enlighten me. I have just done the same for someone else right now.

For those who would like to know how to allow friends and everyone to comment on your blogs, here it is:

click on my account, directly underneath home on your profile. It will take you to a page with many sub titles. Go to Comment Settings and change the dot by placing it under the column "can comment" for both Friends and Everybody

thats it, its that simple..... now you will get many more comments on your blogs

have fun

Copy & paste to friend: (Click inside box; Ctrl + C to copy; Ctrl + V to paste)

......and if you don't like there comments just block them because the moralist is an ugly phenomenon.
Puritans are always ugly people. They don't live, but then they don't allow anybody else to live. Their only joy is how to kill other people's joys, how to kill everybody's celebration.

Personally I don't mind anyones comments, but that is just me.
Some really are rude or crude or whatever and MD asked us to monitor our own blogs so if you leave it open for everyone and someone says something you don't feel right with, just delete it
You as the blogger get to do that

That is very true...........you either should be online to monitor it if it is a touchy subject or......set your own guidelines.....as ..........the comments got out of control and were a priviledge and was taking away from everyone.....for things that were redundant and out of control......so the Mods Squad took that away from us............it's not a chit chat......those are for the threads and personal emails..... .........Each person has there own reasons as to why......some got attacked and that is when you need to use your best judgements.........onto just your friends can comment or whatver you see fit..........but .......I have seen it all and know why some do just use it for them to approve it first.

I think some people don't realize when they when they post that their blog settings are not what they would want if they knew.

surely people who need to approve of someone else's comments must be what they call "single"....probably a damn man started that...lol

I try to leave all comments made on a blog I post.
The comment, whether rude or polite, says so much about a person. If it is rude, then I think it is fun to leave it up there for all to see, and to use as a comparison to see if this person is consistently rude, or maybe conveniently nice.

Either way....it says a lot.

let's just say it was a single man who wrote the program to give all people the option of whether to approve a comment or not, lol.

posting or even allowing comments is not required of anybody. the comments are generally supposed to be directed toward the blogger and blog. the blogger is able to read all comments in his or her email whether he or shey chooses to post them or not..

but since our default settings are set to 'approval', dizzydoll has made a valid point that some members don't realize they have the option to change their settings. she gave good directions.

I'm with Tunes on this one. However. I have had blogs get so ugly do to ignorance and arrogance I've just deleted the intire blog. There's enough negativity around this place. I would prefer it not be in my blogs.
