Latin for “know thyself” - inscribed at the temple of Apollo Delphi, in ancient Greece. And this is most fundamental question that you should be asking yourself…. Who am I?

I was going to write another blog today, describing a life change trip I have just returned from but I am still putting the pieces in my mind into perspective. So while listening to Eckhart Tolle’s “A New Earth” on the ipod… I decided to jot down few bits and pieces from it, to share with you. Also I recommend you either, purchase this book or CD’s… or loan it from a library. But its worth mentioning that this book/CD would be a valuable addition to your cherished collection. You will read or listen to it more than once.

He deals with the “pain body” of our ego, developed in childhood, which holds us back on so many levels in our lives. He deals with the deep rooted ‘thoughts in your head’ which does you no good. He says, the more egoic you are the more you will react to egoic limitations. When you look at others faults you see only the ego in them and thus strengthen the ego in yourself. Instead of looking through the ego in others, you are looking at the ego in them. He asks, who is looking at the ego? Its the ego in you. And continues, very unconscious people experience their own ego through its reflection in others.

He goes on to say: You are not the ego… and when you become aware of the ego in you it doesn’t mean you know who you are. It means you know who you are not. It’s the knowing who your are not, that removes the greatest obstacle to finding out who you are. No one can tell you who you are, it would just be another concept. Who you are… requires no belief, in fact every belief is an obstacle. It doesn’t even require your realization, since you already are who you are. And by realizing that your ego is not who you are, begins the process to change and become who you really are.

Unconscious People, and many remain unconscious trapped in their egos throughout their lives, will quickly tell who they are, their name, occupation, their personal history and what they identify with, what they look like,…. others may appear as more evolved spiritually, cos they think of themselves as an immortal soul or divine spirit, or have they just added some spiritual sounding concepts to their mind. And so do they really know who they are? Knowing yourself goes a lot deeper than believing in some concept or adoption of some set of beliefs. Spiritual ideas and beliefs may be helpful pointers…but in themselves they rarely have the power to dislodge the more firmly established core concepts of who you really think you are…. which is part of the conditioning of the human mind.

Knowing yourself has nothing to do with whatever ideas are floating around in your mind. Knowing yourself is to be rooted in the ‘being’ instead of being ‘lost in your mind‘. Who you think you are... Your sense of who you are, is determined by the perception of your needs and whatever matters to you in your life. And whatever matters to you has the power to upset or disturb you.

You can use this as a criterion to find out how deeply you know yourself. What matters to you is not necessarily what you say or believe, but what actions and reactions are revealed as important to you. So you may want to ask the question, what are the things that upset or disturb me? If small things have the power to disturb you, then who you think you are is exactly that…. small. That will be your unconscious belief. What are the small things? Ultimately all things are small, cos all things are transient.

Done… that’s it, just a tit bit. Get your own book (or pack of 8 discs) to find out how to grow, and fix that ego and all the dramas that come along with it.

"Ad lucem "
THE VERY UNDERSTANDING IS THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE EGO.
And you are so clever in seeing the ego in others. Anybody can see someone else's ego. When it comes to your own, then the problem arises - because you don't know the territory, you have never traveled on it.
When you know it is poison, it drops.
And then you never say, "I have dropped the ego." Then you simply laugh at the whole thing, the joke that you were the creator of all misery.
You see that it has simply disappeared, and then the real center arises.
And that real center is the soul
Accept yourself as you are. And that is the most difficult thing in the world, because it goes against your training, education, your culture" Osho
Latin for “know thyself”
I knew I should have studied latin harder in school I though it was "touch thyself" Just kidding Doll

I'm me, always have been me, but me is a little different every day, I like me, but know I could be a better me. The only thing the stand in between me being me is me. Everytime ego keeps me from being me, something comes along and trips me so I see ego is a hindrance to me. so I try to have very little of it you see
