I have just read something that made me think of Dubai when i was there.
On closer look, i noticed even tho it is a presumably "forward thinking country" in as far as the arabs (with a small a) are concerned.... the men there are just the same as all other arab nations. The expression in their eyes is clear, they hold women in contempt.
....as a man you will never see their disrespect for women (naturally).
So because i have an investigative nature, i asked a young girl from Indonesia working in a fast food outlet how they treated her. She was a good candidate to find out from since her hair was spiky and short, yes! she confirmed it... even in Dubai; they see women as possessions/objects and openly disrespect the feminine gender.... they even make fun of her mothers name which just happens to be her middle name too..... She had an identity card hanging around her neck, this is how they got to see her mothers name.
She told me she cannot wait to leave Dubai in December when her contract is finished, pointing out that she has never met a nation more shallow.... money is almighty there. And while on the subject of money, if someone is caught stealing they will suffer open lashes in front of the police station for all to see. For rape, its off with the head... (cant say i disagree with that).
Some things will never change... i don't like the arab men. I found the women very accommodating and very kind, i feel so sorry for them.... as for the men, i walked right past the lot, without even throwing them a glance  I have no doubt they noticed this because an arab cannot resist staring at blonds. In fact i went one step further, i only asked arab women for directions etc... totally disregarding the man standing beside her, these women knew i was mirroring the same contemptuous attitude... i could see it in their smiling eyes 
Years back when i was in Kenya the arabs undressed me with their eyes, this was long before Dubai was built.... they are disgusting and a poor excuse for the male species. Mirror.... Mirror, you get what you give.... contempt!

well dizzy...the way i see it you have two choices here.....ugly yourself up....or stay the hell out of forgein countries.......the way things are now days around the world.....why would any american ever want to leave our borders and go off to another country.......you might as well paint a target on your back and wait to feel the shot.......just my poinion here....of course.........cookie

no cookie.... i dont believe that, i still want to go to China and South America. I find most people are very kind on my travels..... the arabs are the only ones who are threatened by women, and the only fools on the globe

Sadly it is the way they are brought up, and unless they know of western people, or been there, they dont know any different, they think its the way everyone is.

Doll ,they are just so dumb.
I have no idea how each country can find the way to get rid of some bad fish.
In my own country when we are seen by men you can't act like a sweeti pieto them but a nun from the temple   , or a bit bitchy  ,that will be big help to make them turn their attention away from you,and also good in social view
.deep inside most guys have the same instinct towards women.it can happen anywhere in the world.especially when they are unconcious when they are awaked
but here in USA if I act the way I used to do then people here will ask me Are you ok! .
This why I like to work with old people for many years 
The more you see is the more you learn.the longer you know peopel is the better you know them , most asian cuntries are very friendly kind andvery helpful people.
There're so many different things to see in this world.those jerks are not counted to interupt our wish.

still, arabs will never be forwarding thinking anywhere, as long as they are threatened by women they loose  . at least western men were prepared to release us from the shackles (metaphor), altho there are still some around who has issues with womens rights... but even them, they are not as bad as the arab men 
john i dont believe in public humiliation  and once the foolish head has gone the other dies a natural death

it was a strange trip, on the aircraft i sat next to an Indian fellow who was a reborn and i had to remind him that the teachings of Jesus were open to interpretation and his observations were not correct.
on the same trip, while out and about, i had a delightful conversation with a woman from Pakistan. We chatted about spiritual matters and i told her that i had no problem with the teachings of the Quran, and we both agreed it is open to interpretation and she disapproved of killing/dieing in the name of Allah. She recommended i read the poetry of Allama Iqbal
