I have been in here for quite a while and have never seen so many political blogs.
The extremes as far as politics makes me wonder. Do people find those with opposite political views attractive?
If someone caught your eye and you thought...WOW! That's the one! You exchanged a few emails, everything clicks, then you read some of their blogs/comments and see that you have NOTHING in common as far as politics, would you just move on?
I have met couples in their 80s that say during every election, for 60 years they have always cancelled each others vote. He votes Dem, she votes GOP and so their votes never really count. They still go vote, every election to make sure the others vote is useless.
They are in true love, til death do they part and have the best relationship any couple could ever have
I admit to having to bite my tongue when I am with a lady and she shares her views that make me just......
But then I think, so what...she is perfect in every way
Can I let that stuff slide? If so, for how long? Would it get to me? Can I agree to disagree?
I sure do wonder...If I make a commitment, I intend to keep it. But could a political issue possibly be too much to accept?

I do know that many in here are not looking for relationships, they just come for the blogs and forums, but for those looking for love, could you do it?

If Shriver & Schwarzenegger can pull it off I don't see why not anyone else could?

I don't or wouldn't have a problem with it if the lady I was dating had a different few...so be it...it would make for some interesting conversation at the dinner table and we wouldn't be bored down the road in 5-10 years just ignoring each other..

I demand (yes, I said it) intimacy in a relationship-- that can deepen to a level few are willing to pursue, much less allow. A small difference in political views wouldn't hamper that, but as the differences grow, so would the inability to share on that deep level.

When getting to know someone, their desire to share only at the political level, even if we hold sympatic views, loses my interest. While I prefer tall and skinny men physically I'm looking for one intellectually much more well-rounded than this!

Not a motherfvcken vote is counted by the government, it's just a way to pacify the populous. Allow them to think that they put someone in power. Furthermore, we don't even know these motherfvckers that are put up for election. Politics is a motherfvcken joke.

As far as dating sites go, they're full of shit too, if you're too lazy to find someone in real life, what makes you think you're going to find someone to put forth the effort in a relationship from the computer. Furthermore, how are you going to keep their interest, if they're internet junkies. They'll bounce on you as fast as they've found you, for another internet lover.

Great points, one and all.

Makes me wonder tho...how about Drac and RWR or any other number of bloggers in here.

Could you see them under the stars, sharing their love, their intermost feelings, caring, loving...having nothing come between their love?

Is anything impossible?

I don't think there has ever been a relationship without having any spats at all about something. But to pass up the chance of a good relationship over putting one crook or another into office would be pretty silly. There are more important things to argue about in a relationship like.........whose turn is it to turn the lights off or.........who hid the remote control or.......who gets to wear the boxers in the house....you know. Things of that nature.

As long as a person is thoughtfully political they can be tolerated. When a person follows one party's line and demonizes the other it gripes me so much I couldn't last ten minutes with them.

Under a blood red moon, after a bloody battle, lying on a bloody beach, while sharks eat the bloody corpses floating in the bloody ocean, drinking blood red wine. It's not about love, it's about the moment. And this would be and unforgettable moment. But then again, only the most courageous could handle a moment this bloody spectacular.

Oh, I forgot to mention, with a beautiful nude woman, with blood all over her body. I almost left out the sexiest bloody part.

Who wants to talk about love, on a beach, with a bloody naked woman. Blood lust & sexual desire, would be the only thing on our minds.

GGGEESSHH Drac..Im going to puke if you dont quit that...

HHHmm....I dont know if it would work...perhaps..it could...

could be some real fire going on there..

If the division is too deep and too wide..I really dont think so..

Perhaps if both were more closer to the middle...perhaps..

I have met some libs that I think are nice..on here...

Even if people agreed on politics..perhaps we would disagree in other areas..

Such as..how to spend or not spend money..

how much sex...

how clean should the house be

how many times do we visit family

Ya know..stuff like that...

I think there is always a division of one kind or another.....

Ok Drac..Im leaving now..have at it....

glancing at musicianfriends first sentence on her comment to drac made me decide not to read your comments... so please forgive me if i repeat what has already been said.

i know there are people here, who would like me more if i shared their views. but since my views are more important to me than their opinion of me, i have less friends

too bad, i think i will just go and eat worms

When I was liberal I was fiercely attracted to conservative men. They were just sexier to me.

Now that I'm more conservative I'm still fiercely attracted to conservative men.....

haha....

I could be with one of any political persuasion as long as they were moderate. Unfortunately, I wouldn't get along with someone who is extremist in any capacity. I like balance. Plus, someone who is compassionate and caring, traits I can't do without in a partner, wouldn't demand that I see everything their way.
