I started school yesterday to embark on a new career. I have been out of work for 9 mos now with no job in sight. I am taking patient care tech. Its like a nurse;s aid but more advanced. I will do blood, ekgs, cpr & caths. I am not looking forward to the blood thing since I spaz everytime I have to have it taken. Anyway I was the oldest one there with one gal trailing behind by 12 yrs. The rest were my sons age & one little gal is pg. God bless her- she is due in 2 mos & the course doesn't finish till Jan. Wonder how that will work out. The class for Cna's in with us but only lasts for 6 wks or less.So depending on what u r taking u have diff color scrubs. Lucky me I got the ugly moss green- I look like a green bean. And I had to get xlrg & its baggy in the butt & too long. I thought with the top being xl - I would need the same on the bottom- live & learn I guess. Our books didn't come in so we covered 5 chapters with the teacher droning on & no point of refernce to study. Hopefully they will be here today. I feel like I am beihind already. i had a game plan of studying everynite so I am on my A game to take the boards. O well can't stress - its only the first day. And now it is time for 'granny " to gather her lunch & book on outta here. Wish me luck-
