Update on baby and pitbull

Heard this morning on news. The pitbull was 3 months old, so shows they can be dangerous at any age. Mother and boyfriend still says they did not hear the baby cry. Neighbors say she is a good mother . Hospital says baby is in critical condition.

	shows they can be dangerous at any age. I would think that any dog at that age would be "teething". Pitbulls have been getting a bad rap for years. It's the owners who make dogs aggressive. Even a Labrador at that age would be chewing on everything. Any dog can be a loving, gentle member of the family if raised and trained correctly. Even Dalmations are notorius for attacking family members. I'm not diminishing the horror of what happened. I just think people should focus on the parents, not a particular breed of dog. (I'm not saying that you are blaming a certain breed) JMO Hope the little baby pulls through...............

	Must have been some pretty powerful sleeping medicine if it did not wake her up. I could hear my daughter from two rooms away and she did not have to be even crying. There was a "knowing" in my spirit that she was awake even if she was not crying. I suspect the story will get uglier before it is over.

	That is very sad......poor little baby............I just would not have that dog around any baby that is for sure................

	A good mother that had to take something to help her sleep while a strange dog was in her house with a baby on the other couch and b/f asleep in the bedroom. Now tell me which was the responsible one in that household. HOW COULD YOU NOT HEAR YOUR BABY CRYING IN PAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

	Sounds just like a story that happened a year ago except the baby was in a car seat. Can you maybe post some links to the newscast or can you find something on youtube. This is the third time I've heard a story like this. I want proof. Not an urban legend playing on peoples sympathies. Thanks. Chevy.

	People always rush to blame the poor dog, to my mind its the owners who are mainly at fault! I have had many a rescue dog who tried to bite at first,mainly out of fear. They have all turned out to be loving caring dogs after being shown love,kindness also firmness. Who in their right mind would leave a puppy or any dog with a child. Cats have been known to smother babies, are they put down!

	Cats have been known to smother babies This is MOSTLY an urban legend. Like the one that says cats steal babies breath. When in actuality, all it really is, is the cat trying to get to or lick the milk on the babys breath.
