Brazilian Governmental Oil Company finds oil to drill for and calls it Independence Day! The boost, their economy was hoping for.  But wait, One of their biggest investors just happens to be George Soroes an American billioniare, the founder of Moveon.org and various other liberal sites, who just happen to be a big supporter of Obama. Soroes who also happens to be a big supporter of The green movement, no drilling in America, he's been very vocal in supporting no drilling in America.
I find it odd that we won't drill here at home, yet spend trillions of dollars a year sending money to countries who do drill, We won't drill in the name of Global Warming, that has been reduced to being called Climate change, since Global warming has been debunked by many of the very same scientist who once claimed there was a Global Warming problem.
The Obama administration just approved a 10 billion dolllar Stimulas check to be sent to Brazil, so Brazil can drill for oil, a company his buddy George just happens to be a huge stock holder in. If the Obama administration was truly interested in Stimulating the American economy, drilling here where we have millions of barrels of oil just sitting under our country's land and water is a slap in the face to American Tax payers.
If we drilled here and drilled now with some of this Stimulas money (Tax Money) we already paid for, we could kick start our economy overnight. Several hundred thousand real jobs would be created overnight, ares where the drilling was taking place would shoot up over night stores, houses, business and so on the markets in those areas would become huge tax revenue sources.Oil companies would be paying millions and then billions in taxs. Were sending trillions of dollars across the waters to countries who don't like us, yet we feed their bamks while ours go out of business or have government bailouts trying to float them.
We get 60% of our electric energy from coal, we are the Saudi Arabia of coal here in America, yet this administration is bent on closing down our coal mines, we have shut down 10 coal mines already this year.The Sirrera Club backed by Geroge Soroes is bent on shutting down all of our coal mines. All in the name of being Green, who else is going green China? Oh No! India? Oh No! the two biggest economy's out there are snubbing their nose at the Green Movement.
Now obama brings in Van Jones who is a well known admitted communist radical community organizer, committed to a radical revolution, to run and be the White house Green Czar.... 
Their is a saying that goes like this...show me who you walk with and I will tell you who you are. obama's past is our present, those who put him in power are now being paid back, with our tax money and at the expense of our country.
I'm not one to post political blogs here, and based on the way the political forums are being ran, I stop posting there. But this isn't a right or left blog, it's a blog about what's going on with our country, that somehow seems to keep missing the nightly news braodcast.  Allot of our economic problems could be solved if we drilled for oil here and now, allowed coal mines to continue to compete and bring us lower fuel prices, having our own oil resources would put trillions of dollars in our own economy, which could easliy pay back the Stimulas money and give Americans a chance to become more self sufficent, without depending on other countries for resources we have right here at home. Health care for all would be very easy to pay for if we had the money do it with, starting with medicad and medicare for seniors and those who have disabilities, as well as making sure our vets have the best medical system available to them.

The only coal mines that have vbeen shut down in the USA are those dem UN-SAFE. So you would rather have a few minors killed for a few tons of coal.
They are drilling in the Gulf of Mexico--BP just found a deposit of oil that is the largest ever found in the Gulf.
The Montana and Dokato field is sinking wells every day---there is more oil there than in Sauida.
The Field off the north west coast of Alaska is reported to have more oil than the Montans field.
We have drilling--it is just controlled to keep the Oil companies from RAPING America.
It is like the North Slope--they produce more oil than the west coast can process and most of it is sent to Japan and China for they (oil companies) get a better price.
So before you do your die Hard Republican lying, cheating and what ever you do to try to discredit this President--do some research instead of just running your mouth off.

I've started to see real news being disseminated in places where no one would have imagined a year ago (MD).
The communist president of Brazil wants to use OUR AMERICAN tax dollars, from federal funds, to finance his oil drilling. NO other private oil company will be allowed to participate in the drilling and recovery. All other world oil contracts need secondary and other partners in order to make oil recovery profitable and timely.
Why is Obama interested? Besides paying back Soros for his millions of dollars to fund left wing organizations that helped elect Obama???

Let's remove the propaganda language and look at what is real...
The US Export-Import bank...a bank common to many countries to assist with the flow of capital in and out of country in investments...signed a letter of intent with the Brazilian government, the main shareholder in Petrobras for the $10B LOAN. Yes...Obama approved.
Brazil currently has an excellent credit rating with an investment-grade BBB sovereign rating with a record of responsible borrowing. The loan will be paid back on time and with interest, according to its recent history.
Second, the loan will have 'strings' that 'encourage' Petrobras, a state oil company, to contract with American businesses that will include software, steel, research, environmental impact and engineering concerns, and others.
Third, the Tupi field (40B barrels?) of Brazil will require drilling science not yet fully operational. The oil sits beneath 4-7, maybe 10 miles of ultrahard salt with wild temperature fluctuations. Extracting that oil will be exceedingly challenging... a 'grand project.'
Some have said that it will be one of the great technological and engineering feats of the last 50 years... technology and engineering that China, the other $10B lender on board to develop this field, is not in a position to provide.
Besides the financial side of this move, there are strong strategic factors for it as well.
1.) Without the US $10B, China with it's $10B investment this past March, will be the biggest investment player in Brazilian oil.
2.) Development of the Tupi field will put more oil on the global market, with more supply stabilizing global oil markets and thereby delimiting energy crises and soaring crude prices that keep whipsawing the world economy. With more supply, prices should go down.
3.) The project will intertwine the U.S. and Brazilian interest more — a foreign policy goal. With the rise of anti-American sentiment in Latin America, 'investment in' versus 'control of,' is a major national resource interest carries with it good cred.
4.) Significant quantities of new oil on the global and regional market deflates the power of a leading US critic in the region... Hugo Chavez...who is also our second largest supplier of oil, having surprassed Mexico and Canada. Venezuela has a known reserve of 100 million barrels of oil, while Brazil has 40 billion. Developing Brazil's energy creates meaningful competition, dissipating Venezuela's role in the region.
As to Soros, yes...he has holdings in Petrobras. Last year he invested $811M in common stock, then turned around this year and sold them off and purchased instead preferred shares.. But American oil company, Hess, was Soros’s second- largest holding. He just sold off a big investment in Conoco-Phillips(4M shares north of $40). He also has stakes in Houston-based Plains Exploration & Production Co. plus bought shares in Calgary-based Suncor Energy Inc. and InterOil Corp. in Sydney.
So had Obama maliciously wanted to support his pal, Soros, why not just do it through Hess or Phillips-Conoco, or his drilling baby, Plains Exploration? He'd be able to do so all under the radar if he did, instead of lighting up the conservative bloggers.

The 787 billion dollar Stimulas bill was not paid for by Brazilian governement, but rather by American tax payers who should have been first inline to recieve benefits from our own Stimulas tax money.After all Obama did promise America that this Stimulas that had to be signed before everyone had a chance to read it, (as he promised) including those who signed it, that this Stimulas was to kick start our economy not Brazils. Are you suggesting that had Obama told the American people look part of the Stimulas money is going to help Brazil drill for oil? Americans would be and  singing him praises? Anytime the Government funds any group with tax payer money, that group or organization becomes a dependent on the government and a loyal supporter of the party funding them. There is nothing in the Constitution that allows government to fund organizations from either party. Sadly the party who falls under attack by these nutty groups are funding them. Most of these nuts who are professional protesters are not tax payers, they make their living off the backs of those who do pay taxs.
Interesting enough, those who are protesting all the taxs and wanting to protect the Constitution, are not funded by the government. They are just everyday Americans trying to protect life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, as defind in our Constitution.

You would deeply increase the impact of your blogging if you were to provide evidence and source your claims. As you pose them, you make a vague claim, and then deny a counter-claim by basically arguing..."did not...did too...did not...did too." If an argument has validity, there is evidence and sourcing. Provide those in your 'reluctant political blogging' so people who aren't followers of your persuasion can assess the validity of your argument.
Your fellow believers don't need evidence...they'll come and slap your back regardless of evidence. Evidence is always needed for those who are skeptical...something a lot more of us should be...as it allows people to do the research and learn if there is enough evidence to support your argument.
Ultimately, we want people to see what we see...because if there is a cliff ahead...we don't want to be the one who didn't see it. I shouldn't have to be a believer to explain why I am treading air and losing altitude quickly.

Now back to the idea that the bank does not rely on tax money. Ex-Im was first created during the Great Depression, with an appropriation from the U.S. Treasury, in an attempt to increase exports. It has since been chartered as a government corporation (it was last chartered in 2006). Since 2008, it has been "self-sustaining" (much like the Post Office, I suppose).
The loans that it gives to foreign countries and corporations are backed by the American taxpayer. In fact, Fred P. Hochberg, the chairman and president of Ex-Im Bank, said that himself a few days ago in a letter to the editor:
The taxpayer is the ultimate backstop. Backing by the federal government gives the bank an advantage over others in similar situations. At the end of the day, the money that the bank is lending is the taxpayers'. As Margaret Thatcher said, "There is no such thing as public money; there is only taxpayers' money."
Ex-Im Bank has, at times, had a rather interesting history in lending money. As Timothy Carney discussed back in 2002:
Conservative lawmakers oppose Ex-Im — a federal agency redistributing wealth from taxpayers to foreign and U.S. corporations — on principle. A few stories about Ex-Im's recent loans and loan guarantees shows clearly the lesson we all know: Any time something really screwed up happens, the government is probably behind it.
The larger point, however, is that the American taxpayer is now backing a $2 billion dollar loan to a foreign country to do things that we could be allowing and encouraging the private sector to do here. As IBD stated in their editorial:
[T]he question remains: Why must we go so far and spend so much taxpayer money to drill oil when we could unleash our private sector to do it here for free ?
[...]
At the center of it is energy security. If lending money to Brazil for oil is a good idea, isn't freeing our own companies to develop America's vast reserves an even better one?
You'd think, wouldn't you? But instead of helping ourselves reach energy independence by allowing off shore drilling in the United States and opening areas like ANWR for exploration, we're going to lend money to drill to Brazil.
The Obama administration would have us believe that they are stimulating the U.S. economy by loaning $2 billion to Brazil to develop their resources, while simultaneously denying companies the opportunity to develop resources in the U.S. If Obama's aim is to create wealth and jobs in America then the IBD explains why he's going about it incorrectly:
As noted in a recent study by the American Energy Alliance, an industry research group, developing our offshore energy resources would create in the coming years: • $8.2 trillion in additional GDP. • $2.2 trillion in total new state and federal tax revenues. • 1.2 million new jobs at high wages. • $70 billion in added wages to the economy each year.
All this for doing nothing other than letting oil companies do what they do best: Find and develop potential energy sources.
Whatever benefit the American economy would receive from the loan to Brazil is insignificant when compared to the direct and substantial stimulus developing U.S. resources would provide.
So, in a few years, we'll be no closer to energy independence and we'll have missed out on the economic benefits of resource development on and off our own shores, but we can buy some oil from Brazil. Fantastic.

You can't take a broad brush and make everything the US government is now spending money on, money that comes out of the stimulus.
It doesn't work that way.
If you want to argue that the US gov should be spending money first on US oil exploration...understandable. No problem...and then it is simply a discussion of why I like chocolate and you like vanilla.
We have enough chest beating on these blogs to not feed the hairy primates with misinformation. They're too easily riled to run for the cliffs.

Point to you on this one... However I have yet to find anything that would dispell Stimulas money wasn't used to help Brazil. Other articles I have read have suggested Stimulas money was and will be used.
You can't take a broad brush and make everything the US government is now spending money on, money that comes out of the stimulus. I agree, but on the other hand I have yet to see any worthy yield from the stimulas money either effecting our economy positively nor has it effected employment as promised, unemployment is rising not falling.
The 10 billion being sent to Brazil, beit from the stimulas or the Ex-IM bank should have been spent here at home, It still comes down to tax payers money, whether it comes from this account or that account, it's still our money and should be invested in America first. And yes it can be painted with a braod brush, as our government for decades has taken from one account to pay another account until all of our accounts are broke, now were borrowing money from other countries to float out own economy that has been and still is being grossly mis-managed, by washington thugs for decades.

The democrats bitch at every corner about other nations making progress in the industrial world..Yet forget it was them that gave those countries the tools in the first place to advance.... The democrats were the ones that gave Russia China, and India US super computers while they controlled both the white house and congress at the time in 1994... Now all they do is complain that these countries are making advances..How two faced can they get..
Have you noticed since Obama has been in office how the governmet has reached into your pocket and yet most people don't even realize it happened... Almost everything has gone up in cost..We are being taxed in ways we once never were..
Myself I consider these clowns in political office today just that..clowns...
The only change Obama and his cronies will bring is change we can do without..

It would be hard to argue this....prices are going up on everything. wasn't it this president that said no new taxs for anyone under 250,000 income a year? I don't make 250,000 and everything I go to buy has a higher tax on it, were getting jacked at every turn.

Excellent points...This president and many before him, feel we owe the world a re-building while wacthing our own country suffer, which makes me wonder why Obama would travel the world apologizing for all we have done for them

Very true..... this administration and congress has open the doors to taxing everything and anything, ironically as usual it's the little guys that take the hit, people with money can afford it, it doesn't effect how they live or what they eat, to the little guy it's everything. Look who is loosing their homes not the rich!
I think the majority of Americans atleast according to the polling are very upset with how this country is being ran and ran into the ground, Obama was suppose to help the little guy not bury him. Obama has one of the lowest ratings right now in his first 8 months in office then we've seen in the last 60 years...

Obama seems to be pick pocketing me everyday..  and I can feel his dirty hands even picking for penny's..
When is the media going to catch on to this clown and start knocking him off his socialist train...Geez..Obama has had a free ride long enough... Time to derail him and his circus act once and foreall for what he is.. A banana picking socialist that wears a towel on his head..
Next I think Obama will try to have a tiolet tax.. With each flash he will want to tax you..

Obama has flat out lied countless times and broke nearly every promise he made on the campaign trail. The media gives him a free pass because they voted for him he's a liberal their a liberal. Just like we read here on the boards, it doesn't matter what he does, they defend him and give him a free pass!
The only media outlets that call him out on all his lies are Conservative, so all the libs call them bias or haters. Hey the truth is the truth no matter what color the skin or lip stick..
