Get it through your thick skull that I do NOT want to talk to you! You are a shadow of the person you once were....the interesting guy that I met at a diner a little over two years ago and sat and talked to for a few hours. Every time I hear your voice you sound a little more like your hero....and that would drive any sane person away from you. If I were single it would drive me away, too. I am too scared, not to mention too smart, to go back to all that.
A few months ago I felt sorry for you and what I felt I did. Now I know I did the right thing.

You don't go to my school and you don't know anyone there so you have no right to be there, especially after I've asked you multiple times not to talk to me and told you multiple times that I do not want to see or know you.

I think there's some training course men are put through that woman don't know about. Like a handbook somewhere telling them how to be annoying.

I think you will find campus cops are really board most of the time. File a restraining order,,, and point to the offending person,,, and they will take care of it.
In addition,, kicking him so hard in the nuts that he has to swallow to put them back in place,,, will usually give you enough time to retreive a tire iron and finish the job.

I am sure he is out to hurt you again....probably in a different way this time. Please report it so they have it on file for your safety & carry mace &/or tazer (not in the bottom of your handbag either)  ..keep it in hand & stay on guard.........SAFETY FIRST............Be Safe Sweetie

Dont listen to most of the advice on MD. It has been found, that if you file a restraining order or report the issue to the cops.... firstly the perpetrator DOES NOT obey instruction and secondly it exasperates the offender and this only makes it worse. Speaking to those in law enforcement will confirm this.

OK,, this is a trend, with history.
Yes,,, filing a restraining order or reporting him to the police may piss him off,,, and ramp him up. However,,, the police are powerless to do much, unless You Involve them.
Only you can judge the possible reactions of the guy, and make a choice on what to do.
You may want to decide,,, at what point you will contact the police. It can help when you have to make decisions in the event his behavior ramps up or continues.
1. When he follows you around, and you catch him hanging around school or the house. (one week, two weeks, three weeks)
2. When he starts to contact your school mates, or your family.
3. When he starts to refering to you in the thrid person.
4. When he damages your property.
5. When he kills your pets.
6. When he lays his hands on you.
7. When he strikes you.
8. When he takes you.
I think you get the point. I left off death,,, as contacting the police at that point is automatic,,, but it doesn't help YOUR SITUATION very much.
Find a support group in the area, and seek their advice. The battered women's shelter in your area coud be a good resource, that does not involve the police. There are also resources in the guidance office of your school - even universities have one - and it's right beside the material for date rape, abuse, etc.
If self defense is important,,, don't just depend on some type of weapon. 99% of personal self defense is situational awareness,,, and these are the things that you can learn in good class. Also,,, for the 1%, there are some excellent short classes that will teach you a couple of techniques that can allow you to incapacitate and escape. There are no short classes that will give you the skills to go on the offensive,,, unless your target is completely unskilled.
You are a smart, thinking, person. Take the emotion out of this problem,,, and work it as if it were someone else. (I know that's not easy.)
I leave you with one last thought.
Take a few pictures of him following you,,, save your emails,,, and what ever other evidence you have. Include this into filing a police report or obtaining a restraining order,,, and you pretty much has laid the all the ground work you need for a "Self-Defense" arguement, in the event you need one.
As history is normally a good indicator of future events,,, and the stalker mentality usually ramps up,,, look at what has happened in the past,,, add one or two more levels of craziness,,, and you have a probable outcome of events if you do nothing different than before. Let THAT LEVEL,,, be the probable outcome in your Risk Analysis as you decide what you should do.
AVOID EMAILS WITH PEOPLE WHO VOLUNTEER TO TAKE THE THE GUY OUT,,, as if something goes extreme,,, you will see these again in court.
Analyize the situatiion, develop a plan, work the plan, prepare for the extreme.
Take back your power, and your control of the situation.
YOU CAN DO THIS. 
YOU ARE A SMART PERSON.
YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR REACTION TO SITUATIONS.
YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR POWER.
YOU DESERVE TO LIVE IN PEACE.
