Geez I just found out Patrick Swayze passed on two days ago, this is a blog for those who liked him as a movie actor and for those who enjoyed watching him dance. He will be missed.

	In "another life" (up until 10 years ago) I worked for a major international airline's cargo department at LAX, and I had to contact him one day to let him know that a shipment had arrived. Apparently, he had been filming something in Egypt/the Middle East, along with Wesley Snipes, and Selma Hayeck (all three of them bought stuff & had it shipped at the same time). The others had their shipments consigned to their manager (both used the same), who never returned a call, and let their shipments get siezed by U.S. Customs - Swayze had his consigned to himself, with his address & phone on the waybill: I called, his wife answered, and handed the phone to him, so that I could give him details on how to pick up the shipment! Very down-to-earthy guy, was the impression that I got - not something you see in Hollywood all that often. He even showed up at the airport to clear his own shipment with Customs, and to pick it up. A pleasure to talk to him, if only for a few minutes. We didn't talk about his work - I learned over the years, that most celebs that make it big just want to be treated like anybody else. Their job is just work, and it isn't easy. He will definately be missed, and I feel very sorry for his wife. He was a good man.
