I once had two horses. One was "Draco", an older Tennessee Walker Gelding that I bought for my daughter Rachel. the other was "Maverick". Maverick was a 6 year old Arab/Quarter bay gelding. Many of my older blogs were written about my adventures with that well named mustang. My last wife convinced me that it was in "our" best interest to sell those horses so I reluctantly agreed. I will always remember the day they went down the driveway on the way to the auction. I could not hold back the tears. I cried the day my ex-wife left too, but now, years later, I miss the horses.
A couple came in my shop today and after seeing the woodwork in my RV/Truck asked if I would be willing to do the same work in their horse trailer in trade for a buckskin mare and two colts. The mare is said to be a good rider and the colts include a gruela philly which I bet is awesome and a gray stud colt. I am excited to go out and see them later today. If I am able to make this trade it will seem the last step of recovery from a bad experience of my life.
