I went to the store yesterday and to my surprise, Christmas stuff!
They placed it right next to the Halloween stuff.

I stopped and began to look through all the pretty Christmas stuff they had available.

Now, i love Christmas. Not only do i love it for the Religious significance, but for the lights, wrapping paper, and i love Christmas Trees. I've met many Christians that disagree with Santa and don't believe in using him in any Christmas displays.
I'm not one of them.

I have a beautiful Nativity and i have a big Santa i also put out.
I like the story of Santa Claus. I think it's a beautiful way to remind our kids that giving should be something to do all year round.
People assume that my Political beliefs somehow keep me from being generous.
I try to help as many people as i can, ask the homeless man outside of Cabella's last week. I did a U-turn in traffic to go back to him. Scared the hell out of my Mom LOL. (closer to Christmas, i'll post a few stories about it)
I couldn't stand the idea of no one stopping for this man. You know how many people probably said "Someone else will help him"
As i pulled away, i could see my Mom with that expression on her face, she was sad. I was going to go past and not help him. God immediately said "YOU know better, don't you?" Can't fight with God. I tried. I lost. I yelled out "Dammit!" and said "fine! ok!" My Mom said, "God just dealt with you didn't he?"

Here i had just bought a load of Hunting and Fishing supplies. And that man was sitting there, skinny and obviously hungry.
Shame on me for not stopping right away. I had to have God tell me to go back. Shame on me. I have so much.... even after helping him, i still felt like a complete asshole. I still do.
I won't hesitate next time.
I had no home once. No one helped me. I know how it feels.

Anyways,

I just felt i needed to send out a reminder. Christmas is a once a year reminder to help people in need. We need to be reminded all year long.
People's lives can take a turn for the worst and many have no control over it. Again, i know how it happens. I had a job that paid close to $1,000 a week. And i didn't have a place to live.

Keep an eye out this year. Don't ignore that person who's alone. Visit a neighbor, volunteer somewhere, bring some food to your local shelter or food bank.
Do something for someone else.
it doesn't cost much to make someone happy.

The poor is disliked even by his neighbor,
but the rich has many friends.
Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner,
but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.
—Proverbs 14:20-21

Christmas is just around the corner but.....I prefer to help people all year round when I can, someone is always without and it's not just Christmas........so all year round is a good policy .....

Especially now..........everyone needs alittle helping hand an the rewards is seeing someone smile is enough for me

I thought Obama, Van Jones and like abolished Christmas. It's a winter holiday now with those being fired from their positions if they greet humans with a Merry Christmas jesture.

We get people in our town with signs around their necks, help the veterans, but....there is a veterans home not far from where we live in our town, they help the veterans. It just makes me wonder if these guys are drug addicts or what. I know that there are people out there like you said who really are hungry and need the help, you are a good person to give to that man. God sees that.

I also have a nativity, I got it free at a yard sales years ago, the grass roof was practically nil so I bought some grass, glued that on and it looks really nice, it's an older nativity but I appreciate it so much.

This Christmas will be a slim Christmas for so many. I usually give do the Salvation army kettles even when I'm unemployed, well....there is always someone much worse off than I am, just the way I see things. It's a feel good feeling helping those with less than you.

blessed is he who is generous to the poor.

Please note,,, this does not mean give to the government. They are not poor,,, just out of money.

Please resume your holiday musings.

Thank-you

Thanks lol I didn't want to HAVE to say that .....
I'd rather give to people on my own. Not have someone else do it for me.

Careful ya starting to sound like a stinking liberal.
The big difference is as Myst said, once a year versus year round.

Good God, Supreme, you really need to get laid.
There more to life then hating on opposing party letters. Why not go back to bashing fat woman? Or the handicap?

Oh RWR i'm no naughty boy... I'm on Santa's good boy list..go check and see. You'll see for yourself.. I only ask for a shiny RWR doll under my tree because they are such beautiful to look at, and have all the curves in just the right places...

Maybe you can put a few pointers into Santa for me... Oh how I wish he will leave me an RWR doll under my tree for me to enjoy this Christmas... One that I can play with all year long...And look into it's eyes and see her beautiful smile... Yeap all I want for this year is an RWR doll...They are the best..

Christmas, Santa Claus... helping others....

We could use a dose of this every week....

I volunteer a lot, at a local Senior's Center and also at a shelter for homeless people.

I have time that I can contribute and doing some volunteering seems to suit me.

My idea is that we all have something that we can share with others be it time or money or skill.
