We sit and watch as tall trees sway
Leaves rustle in the breeze so soft
and fall in spirals to the ground
while branches gently dance aloft

The squirrels chatter busily
and gather food in store
we swept the acorns from the porch
the broom leans against the door

The sun is setting past the ridge
the sky in golds and red
Work is finished for the day
Against my chest you lay your head

My fingers wander through your hair
meandering so aimlessly
carressing your face and neck
and find you kissing me

One with nature in this place
beneath the autumn sky
beginning in a long embrace
ending with a sigh
