This is my Buell. There are many like it but this one is mine.
My Buell is my best friend. It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my Buell is useless. Without my Buell I am useless.
I must ride my Buell true.
I must corner harder than my enemy, who is trying to pass me.
I must shoot the apex before he stuffs me. I will.
Before God I swear this creed: my Buell and I are defenders of the Twisties,
We are the Masters of our rice-riding enemy; we are the saviors of my Sanity.
So be it, until there is no Whine, but only Thunder.
Amen."

Buell, lol, When America makes a bike worth riding, I'll ride an American bike. When the thunder of my HRC51 fades, you will have replaced your antiquated, overpriced motor thrice. I will undoubtedly look again at the Buell, for a glimpse or a glimmer of the American quality that died so long ago.
Meanwhile, if you pretend that your Buell can keep up with the "Rice Rockets" Just look at the AMA, who can only race the Buell against the "Rice" bikes that are half their size. (and they still aren't winning.)
I do ask that you help the US by not falling for the BS they feed you about the bike being some kind of living being. Trust me, it's not, it's a bike. If we expect them to outperform the japs, they will have to. If we continue to "Buy American" and spend extra for a sh*t product, that's what they'll keep making.
Decent feeling poem tho. Although you'll probably not post this, because you know you got burned in the name of some image that your bike is a good bike, it's not, but it does look good doesn't it?

There's almost nothing like riding. It's so relaxing feeling the sun (or moonlight) on your face and the wind in your hair.

Wow Mr. i8yurdog, lighten up! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion my friend. The poem was posted as a joke to my friends who own Japanese bikes after Buell took the AMA championships. Unlike you I don’t buy into this hype that everything American made is bad, I like buying American because it will keep Americans working. That is why it was important that Buell did win the championship to show others that America can build a better sports bike. This year we won and knowing the Japanese they will not take this defeat lying down and take it as a challenge to do better. Because from what I watch during the racing season their riders were outstanding. As far as engine size it doesn’t matter, it was accepted by AMA to race in that category so what is the problem. Could it be that the Japanese was so cocky that they thought they could beat any American made bike? Now they found out. Go out and test drive a Buell 1125RR and see if it is all just hype. If you have and honestly still done like the bike then I can only respect you opinion. Keep the wheels down and the shiny side up my friend!

OK Come on, Buell lost all season, then pulls it off by a hair, ONLY after the AMA bent yet another rule to accommodate the bike. And Just FYI, when you look into it, you will discover that very little of the bike is made in USA.
Keep in mind that the Buell was running 1125cc bike in a 600cc field. It was like having a full grown man competing against second graders in a decathlon. Then when he was getting beaten, they modified the rules and by no means can you buy the bike they were racing from Buell, Harley or any other American Manufacturer, You'll need to deal with Austria, Germany and yes, Japan to get the parts. All other bikes on the field were homologated. Just FYI, the time records at seven of the fields are still held by the Honda RC51, which is a V-Twin, that was ruled out of racing in a similar fashion to the way Buell was ruled into a smaller class. [THE POINT] My point is not that the bike is crap tho, it's that America is better than the junk they crank out. And that in the long run "Buying American" when we know it's junk, has not even been an adequate bandage for the wounded the American auto industry, including Harley. And the wound won't heal, until we stop settling for less.
