UMBILICUS INTERRUPTUS

Back I am
to being untethered
again
Umbilicus interruptus
Surreptitious
loss from a
plunder

No north star
matters now
I am lost
adrift, my anchor
tossed
I know no tender
yearning and reaching
I don't know
whether to gasp
and gulp for nourishment
or lie in silent
shame and disgust

It was my own doing
this lackluster
downfall
Ruin is my speciality
I watched you slip away

God
forgive
my hunger and lust
all I wanted
was tender touch
