Watching PBS can be dangerous!

Guess which state has the highest average annual snowfall . . . Hawaii or Illinois?

Sounds like a no-brainer, but the answer will surprise you.

Of course, most of Hawaii never receives snow, but the top of Mauna Kea averages 48" of snowfall a year, whereas Chicago averages 38" a year. In 2005, Mauna Kea received 123" of snow.
