Change, and dreams, are the essence of life. I have been fortunate enough to have been able to have and live both.
For many years, I dreamed of having a farm with my horses. Three years ago, I was able to live that dream. I purchased my beautiful five acres with barn and house, with the added bonus of having an incredible sun room for my art room.
Oh, I had to put an incredible amount of work and money into the place, in order to have it the way I wanted it - but I did it.
So now, the farm is sold, and I am, once again, happily homeless. My mortgage broker (and probably my best friend) had voiced concerns when I moved here. He felt there would not be enough mental stimulation here for me. Boy, was he right!
But I had the opportunity to live my biggest dream. And I'm so grateful to have had that opportunity. And now, it's time to move back to the coast and have the social life I want. There are so many opportunities waiting for me, it's rather overwhelming. A request to illustrate some children's books. A request to teach art. A request to join some elite business groups. And I'm not even there yet! Woohoo!!!
I'm so looking forward to joining these groups. To pursuing my art even further, and kicking my business into high gear. And to travel.
Every year I map out a dream board at the beginning of the year. This year, I made sure I kept it where I could see it. And funnily, everything I put on my dream board is coming true!
I hadn't taken a vacation for 20 years before this past January when I went to the Dominican. Now, I'm off to Mexico in November (five days after I move - argh!) Then a cruise in January, business related, but time for lots of fun too! And yes, that was on my dream board. To travel.
And now that I've sold the house, I will buy the new car I want, and, it just hit me - to take the European art tour I've always wanted! OMG - I can hardly wait! That will be in the spring.
And what else was on my dream board? A new house, to be healthy and active and eat better - all happening. And romance - that is on there too. And I have no doubt, that moving back to the coast, I will have that as well.
So I'm off to the coast again. To live and pursue other dreams. To have the close proximity of an airport for the traveling I want and will need to do. To have the access to the courses I want to take, and attain my masters degree (yippee!).
I can feel my new life unfolding before me. All the things I have dreamed about, are coming true! And moving to the coast, I know I will meet my soul mate. I remember a very wise mentor telling me once, that the man I want in my life, will not be on the internet - he will be busy living his life.
And it's time I started living mine again. Oh, the quiet here was quite necessary at the time. But I have changed incredibly since I've been here, and it's time now for me to move back to a more populated area where I can take advantage of all the things I like to do. (And the people to do them with!)
Although my health suffered here (who would have thought?) and now, my health has improved, I look forward to being active all year round again. I developed cold-induced asthma from the cold here, which prevented me from going out in the winter, or doing anything. Now, I will return to the rain (I don't have to shovel it, woohoo), and the milder temperatures, where I can exercise all year long.
To having friends with similar interests, and taking advantage of all the social activities available to me. Taking night school classes, and traveling with my business. Biking, and walking along the seawall, dining out, joining different social activities and functions. And dating! lol - In a one horse town, the only thing to date here is... the horse!
Anyway, having my dream board, has made a huge difference. And a positive attitude. Where there has been a lot of naysaying about my goals, I have managed to stay on the course I set out. I have believed that my house would sell for the price I wanted, even though others were adamant that it wouldn't.
I believed that I would buy a new car, take my European art tour, travel and that my business would take off. And it is all coming true! The power of belief is incredible... and as long as one believes in themselves, no one can take that away from you.
Yes, dreams do come true! One just has to believe in the dream, and in the probability of it!
