though a wee bit crass, there is the ancient apache legend
that the universe is a giant womb and god made love to it,
and then came the big bang explosion. god may come again.
this is why catholic nuns are married to god. can't beat that.

My first exposure to The Tao Te Ching was this verse. These few words carry such great energy, I am delighted to add them in my blogs
Such a shame we are all on a different leg of the continuum on the wheel of fortune  We really should open our mind to all, only after that ...can we make an authoritative decision.

sphynx> most definitely... masculine and feminine lives within all of us. Here he depicts the universe as feminine (which incl. mens feminine) cos she gives birth, and God (who is masculine) resides within her, i suppose. I never considered this till your question
