When's the last time you heard that name? I've always had a good opinion of the guy. After watching his biography I have a different veiw. He loved life. He led a full one. He just crammed it into less time. He didn't let his problems get him down. He enjoyed what we all have, life. Seems like everyone that met the man respected him. Even after being told he had a known limit one life he kept on his normal routine. It's too short. Life. Choose to enjoy it. Why can't we all just be satisfied with the simple?

I remember the old days of the WWF. The early 80's matches with Andre, Hogan, Macho Man; ect.
After Andre's death, they did an interview with Hulk Hogan. With tears in his eyes, he said, "I lost one of my best friends. He was a huge man with an even bigger heart."
I also remember Hulk talking about Andre drinking 4 liters of vodka one night and not even being drunk!

I was at the Wrestlemania 3 match with Hogan and Andre at the Pontiac Silverdome. I had seen him a few years after that, a shell of his former self losing to the Ultimate Warrior in seconds.
He was a gentle giant who loved life and knew his time was short. We all could learn a lesson from this guy.
But if he didn't like you you would pay the price in the ring with some heavy chops and big boots to the body.
RIP Andre...you are loved and missed today by all your fans worldwide!

One thing leading to another. I was browsing for a certain logo'edt-shirt and ran across one in passing that was like a simulated Hello My Name Is sticker over the heart, followed by a (written) 'Inoyo Montoyo, You Killed my Father, Prepare to Die'. So I started looking at bits of the Princess Bride (including Andre) clips on youtube...I do have the DVD, just not that organized right now. Last week I was browsing through a WWE magazine special in the Superstore; one from the trivia timeline was that he played in that movie while in seriious pain, not long before his death.
I really respected him in his earlier 'heroic' role early in his AWA/ WWF career but it was sad to see him turn heel towards the end. Not the best way to remember him.
