I'm sad today. An uncommon thing for me but death does that. One of Rays best friends passed away suddenly last night in his sleep. He was only 47 yrs old and his son called today and told Ray that his dad went to lay down last night because he was tired and just never woke up. They think it was his heart but not sure yet.

This man had been in our home just a few weeks ago.. hugged me before he left(which I understand, he does not show affection to anyone much) and told me how much he admired me for my fight against cancer.

I feel a great sadness.. because it was so sudden and also because he was a really good person with a big heart! He was very private and kept his feelings inside.. which is probably why his heart gave out.. people who internalize emotions often times have medical issues and/or pass from heart failure or strokes.

Makes one think more seriously about how fragile life can be.. here one second, gone the next. I wonder what his last thoughts were.. did he have any pain.. did he call out for anyone... things like that pass through my mind. That's why it's so important to have your personal, financial and spiritual matters right.. we never know when our time is up here on this earth.

Ray was shocked.. it's the 2nd one of his good friends to pass within months... I can tell he is doing a lot of thinking also. He tends to internalize emotions also but has been working on it for a while now.. letting some things out, talking more about things bothering him. I worry about him because he smokes (and has for 40 yrs) drinks and has a history of heart disease in the family. But he is a grown man and I cannot make him quit his bad habits.. he knows he has my support and love but I cannot do it for him.

So anyway.. today I am sad and I wonder why the good people have to leave and the stinkers, perverts, assholes and crazies are left behind
