We do reap what we sow. I'm personally never happy hearing about anything like this, no matter who is involved. But, ive been thinking he's a piece of crap ever since the low blows to The Palin's. I don't see him making fun of his fellow liberal fruit cakes. If anyone could be a punchline, they can be.
The sick world in which we live.
Get ready, there will be people defending him and giving a list of Reps. who have been in scandals... let i remind everyone that there is a longer list of Democrats who have been involved in them.

....and then his wife can get a high end lawyer and take him for everything he has (x wives do that ya know) and he might wind up living in an old refrigerator card board box under the freeway and Jay Leno can make cracks about him on his show! Then he'll know the meaning of "what goes around, comes back around".

I am not trying to justify his actions, nor am I siding for or against him. All I am saying is that is it justifiable for anyone to resort to name-calling others aside from themselves? Including referring to me as a "liberal"??
Do unto others . . .

Wasn't his wife a former staffer also? I think she was a writer on his show. Hey it happens men with power get women...look at Bob Barker of the Price is Right...he was involved in the same type of situation a years back.
would you like to also defend Roman Polanski raping a (13) year old girl while your at it? rape and consensual sex among adults is two different things!

works hard,,,get's to the top.....does the "right" thing,,,,claims to have a long time girlfriend who he eventually had to marry to keep up the front,,,all the while..

I'm a Republican, but I'm also a long-time Letterman fan.
And I say.... "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" to all of you Letterman haters out there who think this is going to be even the most minor of speedbumps for this man. Late Night entertainers come and go, but Dave has put Carson, Leno and a half dozen others on the road to retirement of the course of his career. For better or worse, this country doesn't give a rat's doo-doo maker about adultery when it takes place in Hollywood, New York or Washington. If you were paying attention to the main-stream media this morning, Dave came across as a master showman...spelling out the details of this drama in a way that earned him PRAISE. The focus on the morning talk shows was the arrest of the blackmailer and the entertaining presentation given by Dave on his show. No job will be lost. I bet you a wooden nickel that his marriage isn't over by a long shot. His ratings will probably go UP.
Stop your liberal whining and go find a REAL solution for healthcare or whale flatulence. Dave will be on TV and rich much longer than you will ever be relevant.

Is referring to you as a Liberal, a dirty word to you? It is not a dirty word, it is a word. However I take offence that you, who claim to do your homework before pontificating, know how to categorize me, who you do not know.
I will not refer to you nor anyone else by any other name except their given name, no matter what they say or do to me because it is not my place to judge them & their behavior. THAT is what "Do unto others . . ." means to me.

rape and consensual sex among adults is two different things! It's shocking how often i agree with legacy on some things.
His joke was far worse than him sleeping with interns.
I wouldn't have cared about this "scandal" at all, but it just kicked up the dust again over his jokes.
I personally don't wish to see anyone in any type of scandal. Don't care who they are. Especially anyone known the world over. It just sends bad vibes.
I don't know, this is just weird through and through.

Letterman did not joke about rape. This is the joke:
One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game," Letterman said, "during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."
Again with politics in the mix, this was distorted and blown way out of context. It is in poor taste, but it has nothing to do with rape. sheesh...

War, economy, nation is divided, monetary collapse, terrorism and government seeking more and more power .
And we have politcial pundits bantering back and forth because some guy on a late night show was screwing some bimbo on the set.
What's wrong with this picture?

I'm sorry...I've alway's liked David Letterman...He's funny and does a great job.
...Many, many people cheat...However when your not famous, everyone in the whole world doesn't know about it.
He may have thrown a few jokes around that were in poor taste...But I still think he's talented and funny.

I don't think you need to apologize for finding Letterman entertaining, Fender. If I had to choose between he & Leno I'd watch Letterman (unless I was suffering from insomnia, then I'd turn to Leno).
