Scientists should be running the country, making all the national decisions.
From what I've observed, our politicians:
1. Spend money with no regard for the future.
2. Use the constitution to wipe their butts.
3. Expect the populace to abide by the law while they ignore it.
4. Admit the truth only as a last resort
5. Act not as our representatives but as our handlers.
It's about time we put the smartest people in our country in charge of making decisions, instead of smart talking salespeople...
If scientists ran the country, we would probably have a "workable" alternate fuel source by now. They would give us the truth about how much poison we are spilling into our water and spewing into our air. Hopefully, they would give us the truth about UFO's and alien visitation.

My Congressman is just another used car salesman like every other politician. I have been writing letters for years about the illegal immigrants here in my state and it's a waste of trees.

write a letter to Oprah, send her thousands of signatures... from your whole area and others. she has more pull than any one person i know worldwide. now you might not like her, but the world loves her... i love her  ,she makes good changes.

I agree. Instead of representing individual states and their interests, the Senate should be comprised of the best minds in the country. The best in science, economics, medicine, foreign affairs, engineering, etc. Not just the band of thieving lawyers that we have currently.
And the house of representatives should be eliminated completely. What is the point of paying 450 windbags $150,000 a year each to accomplish NOTHING??

Thing is, the people you speak of are already quite busy out here in the real world....doing real things.
The people you speak of are by & large decisive, focused, goal oriented, and have a low tolerance for unrelated BS in the way of accomplishing. And the last thing the people you speak of would be qualified to do, or have the slightest interest in doing, is American style politics.

Well, if we put it in their hands it wouldn't be "American style politics" anymore, it would be something different.....Still politics........just much better and more efficient. Also, do you think they could do any worse than what we have right now? Would scientists or someone like Stephen Hawking be any less qualified?

If you haven't heard of Michio Kaku, you should check him out. I'm reading one of his books right now called "Physics of the Impossible."...........His views are so close to mine it's scary!
I'm not saying that scientists could solve ALL of our problems, but I bet they could solve many of our major problems if we just gave them the reins.
