Hey, So what is it with this guy? Is it really true that he's now dead? Cocked his clocks? Gone to meet his maker? Or is Islamic terms is now being served with honey and fresh goatsmilk from 50 virgins? Or is he once again still illusive to all security forces in the world.? If course not. He was shot dead some time ago by a British SAS captain (there is apparantly a video of this - but you won't find it on U-Tube!)
So the Brits did not want to make him some sort of hero. But they did tell the US! So why all the secrets? Do they want to continue the war on terror....or is is just not to make a big thing of it like Joan of Arc?
I'm just surprised that it is not common knowledge.

better to keep the legend of the boogyman alive then to end it and lose all those wonderful,wonderful,defense spending dollars,,
let's face it,,war makes money,human life is secondary,,, sometimes you just have to break a few eggs to make an omelet.
(for those with sons and daughters that lost there lives in this current war,,i forget the name ,,we are always at war and i get confused,,please don't yell at me ,,i do not mean to make light of your loved ones death,,rather turn your anger where it belongs,,the military/industrial complex aided and abetted by the very government they served to defend our country from the constant onslaught of terrorist actions which strike this country every 10-15 years in spectacular, over the top,Hollywood was envious,coverage on every station before a plane even hit anything for full dramatic effect,,,fashion)

I've heard this speculation before. One report said he was killed in Tora Bora about 3 months after the invasion of Afganistan. Another said he was killed in a raid in Pakistan around 2004. If he is dead, why not let the world know?
In a nutshell, with Osama gone, the war on terror would be "over"...and the US, at least the former Bush admin, would never let that happen.

so when are the soldiers coming back to their families so everyone can put this behind them and start afresh?. the US can ill-afford the money for MORE war, it has gone on too long... the paranoid people must get on medication while the rest can focus on their lives

I hope he is dead and in living in 
I for one is so tired of the wars that our country is in , too many young lives getting killed or hurt for a life time ,
I would have like if we our troups would have got to him first but if Great Brittin got to him first that's ok by me
