MD is a fun place to be! Well it was until recently........
People started posting views about how the government was screwing them over and this and that....I could care less about government if i want to hear see and read about ill drive 90 miles to Tallahassee and breathe it all in...But that's not me!!!
Then we have the religious folks who bitch and moan about people bashing cause of there religious views and crap like that!!!!! Folks I don't care about that...If i want religious views I'll go down the stree to church!!!!...and i do go when I can.......
I always thought this was a fun place but its getting to be a pain in the ass!!!
I make breakfast on the weekends and the friends I have really enjoy it....and I do too...no one bitches or moans....it's all smiles....Thats what it is all about....  ......smiles!!!!!!!
Now Mind you I have my moments hey we all do..But my God.....Some of you need to get a life!!! and find something to do....

There are a lot of very unhappy people in the world.
That is just a fact..
But, we thank God for people like you..
that are cheerful and upbeat..
can you imagine what the world would be like
if it only had the Moaners and Complainers..
and the ones that only want to fight and be mean..
So, you keep up the good work!!

I agree with Gunn, and I agree we don't have to read it if we don't want to, it is just that there is so much about religious views and politics and other topics that just don't seem like they fit in the blog area of a dating site.
We are free to blog about anything, within reason, no one can stop it, freedom of speech rules so we are left with not reading things...if you get tempted and read something you wish wasn't here, oh well...we are all human, but JUST DON'T POST A COMMENT .
Over the years I have been here, the only way I have seen to shut down a blogger people would prefer not read is to NOT COMMENT on their blogs.
As long as people comment on their blogs, they will continue to write.
If they get no feed back, if no one mentions their name, their blog...if they are totally ignored they will go away. It will take a little while, but just like a whiney little brat kid, they will eventually take their marbles and go home.
Don't mention anything about them anywhere, they may scream louder, cry bigger tears, lose their voice shouting for attention...but if NO ONE ANSWERS  ...they go away 
Then, as I see their blogs become less frequent I start to  then then  .
It just takes time and patience and the ability to bite ones lip

Indeed, gunn, one has to have a certain benefit of perspective. To know how to cherish every moment spent on this earth is a gift... 'cause once you're gone you're not coming back, and you can't take anything or anybody with you, so you might as well enjoy it while you can.

Hello Chef Jason,
One just has to look past all of the mania and bullchit.
We all have our beliefs and opinions.
What matters most is what we as an individual believe and how we conduct our own lives.
Not getting involved in the mania and bullchit and staying balanced and happy as individuals is in our own best interest and the best interest of society as a whole.
Having a life is very important.
Being a content and happy individual with yourself first is paramount.
If we are happy and content with ourselves we can be a POSITIVE influence.
I enjoy breakfast here with my friends and Chef Jason just let the rest roll off your shoulders.

The "don't read it if you don't like it" attitude is all well and good once we know who to avoid, but we need to read first in order to find out. I think what you're trying to say is you're not finding a lot else aside from politics, religion and bitchery and that's a fairly common view. Hopefully things will pick up soon! I'll see what I can do to contribute, I'm neither political, religious or bitchy (well, at least I try not to be the last one, no one's perfect  ).
Any tips on what you consider "fun" ... and keep it clean young man!

I think people are just very upset now with this bad economy and that is one reason they come down on others so hard in the blogs, whether it be politics, religion etc., they are feeling frustrated and they are venting their anger, it is of course a displaced anger, but it makes them feel better about who they are as a person. It's difficult to remain sane in bad times, so many job losses, there is so much anger in people's hearts, I feel it too, you wonder how we all got to this point, how the world has changed so much in such a short time causing these frustrations, I just choose to be nice and try to be understanding of others and help whomever I can when I can. Being mean and nasty gets you nowhere, it is counterproductive.
Hang in their Jason, we love you! I know myself, I'd miss you being on Matchdoctor, I enjoy your breakfasts and your friendship.

I tend to just skip over the postings if I see any words related to religion, government, obama, etc
I can understand your frustration as some of us like to read different viewpoints . . . it can be a learning & mind-opening experience.

I definitely prefer to read & comment on the thought-provoking, positive postings, especially if they are light-hearted & amusing! I try to boycott the rest.

Agree, it is a sign of the times though It is a symptom of a much bigger problem. People come here to vent and release frustrations that they cant in the real world. If it wasnt for me being able to get my rage out here, my sister would have been skinned alive by now. With the economy in the toilet, with no sign of slowing its decent, people just need a place to vent.
I have my hopes on the Age of Aquarius, or The Endless Dark Aeon.

Agree with most sentiments here. Don't read the crappy blogs and ignore the author, do NOT add to their view count and do NOT make any comments. Maybe they will get an attitude adjustment or just go away. Kinda like dealing with a toddlers tantrum - ignore the behavior and they will stop.

I agree with you, especially if the blog is about something I'm not interested in but then I'll need an outlet to blog about something and here it is. Being as this is a dating site, a person's views reflect who they are, so whether they are talking politics, religion, weather or being a total arse it might be important to someone to find that out now rather than later.

I agree my dear friend...I used to have so much fun in here...was a place I could laugh and enjoy reading and commenting ......I spend more time now skipping over the bashing and political discontent, then I do talking in here... 
But there are still some people like you, that make it worthwhile...I HAVE been thinking of leaving...but won't...just won't be on as much, methinks...

Good morning, Jason!  All great comments here. Those types of blogs and/or comments are pretty dang hard to miss, because they are all over the pages. But we do have that option of backing out of them....and not giving them the time of day. It is just a little heartbreaking to see the name calling by so-called adults. But, hey! It DOES give the rest of us 'insight' as to who and what kind of people they are.
I agree with the brunt of the posters here. Do NOT lower yourself by partaking in ANY of it! By leaving comments on these types of blogs only fuels the fire. We can carry on around them.

I am getting tired of all the boo hooing and crying stuff and at this point in time I belong to a support group and I come out of there feeling more down and out than I went in.....
SOLUTION......START MY OWN HAPPY SUPPORT GROUP......just getting it started in my brain but it might help others to do the same thing......I have a place to have it and a letter to the editor should get things rolling.....so no more crying about stuff you can't change, or can you????

First of all, people lie about hating the controversial blog and threads on MD.
They have forever gotten the most comments and made people think,either by agreeing or disagreeing.
Hell, Md had far more members when things were crazy on here, sadly.
I don't take any of thing into my real life, nor should anyone, it's just words on the screen. Yes, flip out all you want here, then smile as you go back to real life.
Check the record, all the nice, kind,sweet and real post get the fewest comments.
In real life it's the same thing, check the news, it's 95% bad crap with some soft kind news.
There's some much wonderful kind things people are doing for each other, but, that never gets told, actually, I would say the good that's being done out weights the bad 10 to 1. That's what surround myself with everyday, the good people.

I am just saying that there are many good forums on MD. Choose where you like to be and post. Going into the Political forums, or Religion forums, cam make you want to scream.
If you don't like that kind of reading, then don't go. It is and can be a very scary place.
The Kitchen is so much fun, and the sports forum is a very good place where people that like sports do have a good time with some teasing.
Find where you fit and have fun. Skip over the whiners, and the drama people on it.

The purpose of a blog is to tell about who you are so that potential mates can get to know you. If you're religious or political, that's part of who you are. True, both subjects get pretty boring but it needs to be said. If this place were all sweetness and light and friendly fuzzy feelings nobody would get to know the real people behind the keyboards. Best thing to do is make a list of those one dimetional people who can't talk about more than one or two subjects, then stay away from thier blogs. I have a list of five who don't allow open comments on their blogs whom I never, ever read.
