This is what I have been trying to say about the subject:
If we put restrictions, such as a cost ceiling, (On what the average person pays) so to speak on insurance companies, and also, limited their say as to the care and length of care of a patient, that would help the doctors not only prevent malpractice, but also save on their malpractice coverages.
Some Pharmaceutical companies offer incentives to docs, (cruises, vacations, monetary rewards etc.) for them to prescribe their drugs. But sometimes, this causes the doc to prescribe something that isn't exactly needed to meet the needs of patients.thus, creating more illnesses, or prolong whatever illness the patient may have.
A prime example of this is cancer research, there have been cures, for cancer, but the drug companies shot it down, because that would mean a reduction in things like chemotherapy, etc. And since they make a ton of money with that, you don't think they are going to let someone take away their bread and butter, do you?
And this is where we need to regulate.
Also, put stiffer restrictions on licenses for Drs. and Medical Personel in general. This should include psychiatric evaluations, nationwide criminal and employment background checks, school records checks and so on, the reason I say this, is because billions of people each day put their lives in the hands of these docs.
Then there are the people on Social Security, the ones that are entitled by age, or disability, that can't afford coverage. I know you will disagree with this, but these people only get what, 600 per month to live off of? They can't even meet their household bills with that, let alone medical and prescription bills. They should have a program set up for them that doesn't cost them anything. And on top of that, they should be getting about $2,000. per month, to meet expenses. But because of people out there trying to scam social security, they can't. So at this point our elderly and disabled are currently at lower than poverty levels. And don't you think they have enough problems?

I'm dealing with my Grandmother who now has pancratic cancer. If I could spell it'd be magically but then I'd need a pill to fix that too. lol
I've been dealt with her in the hospital for 8 days where she had a heart attack without them ever noticing or caring, with her primary who needed to be yelled, yes yelled at by her cancer guy because the primary wasn't doing his job. She needed a stint put in and her primary was dragging his feet for almost 2 weeks. She's been put on new pills, then taken off all but one.
My wish is that doc would do the right thing, not the thing that lines their pockets. I watched a doctor deal with a drug rep and make a profit off of them. I can't prove it but I know what I heard.
When she was in the hospital, my brother and I were there from 11 in the morning until 8:30 at night, taking care of her. The paid professionals wouldn't do a thing.
Off topic a bit but I can remember a time when hospitals were full of doctors. Now the only docs are technicians who have special machines. Where'd the rest of them go, to private practice to make more money?
Sorry, I'm just fed up with certain doctors and sick of this health care run around/coverup that's been around for decades.
