I am glad I am still on this site.I have visited some of the others,was not impressed.Whoever was unhappy here will be unhappy there also.They are the ones who tried to take this site down but they would never admit it.It has been a little quieter without all the blog wars that used to go on here.

It is my understanding it is places that rate dating sites that are the true culprits. People would go in there and write fake profile names and post nonsense about MD. I actually read some of them. They were stealing real people's names and saying they were them and making derogatory comments about MD.

 I do know of other websites - the people I know that left MD for these other sites is because MD no longer offers a chatroom. And when MD did have a chatroom they were monitored very strictly and they would kick people out and band them for what they considered "bad language" ... I once use the word: "biotch" (even spelled it that way) and I was band for a weekend. I am such the rebel.

i agree with you, if you can encourage the pleasant people to come here i am all for it. Actually we should advertise what we want. Lets make a list. MD worst site ever
I cannot say anything positive about this site, the moderators, the owners or the members/non-members. They are all awful and to be avoided. I've seen newbies trashed for no reason, blogs targeting others and not removed by moderators, chatroom full of psychos that have too much time on their hands and sit there for days and days with nothing good to say, blogs about ridiculous nonsense and fighting in the forums constantly.

What a bunch of shit. I never wrote that. Good God...give me credit for SOME decent writing skills. If I was gonna trash anything I sure the heck would have done a better job than this. I've never even been in the chatroom.

I think advertising is the key to new memberships on ANY dating website. A small percentage of members here use the blogs, forums and chatroom when it was available. People come and go. Advertising brings more members than referrals.
I remember times were 2,000 people were online. now, the numbers don't exceed 400. A few disgruntled members leaving (anf complaining) couldn't cause that much trouble for membership to drop. I think it takes more.

wow thats terrible, you have to wonder what kind of mind thinks of taking another's identity and speaking on their behalf. i suppose its happened to all of us at some stage.
anyway if you think about it, all advertising is good be it positive or negative, seems like thats how the rating goes up.

It was interesting to see some of the comments about POF. I want to see how many people talked about how Match did the bait thingy. I personally know they do that there. They wink or email or whatever it is (I forget) to get you to buy so you can email back and they they drop the emails after a few emails and try to bullshit you about why if you finally get them to reply. Such a load of crap.

We are all at MD cause we love it and we are hooked...I advertised MD on that other place too.
Whoever wrote that isn't CIW for sure...She would be more eloquent than that!

It is a known fact that prior members of this site have gone onto the rating sites & bashed MatchDoctor. A certain group of participants from the blogs that formed elsewhere made a big effort in doing this last year. No doubt, there are probably some who were disgruntled when chat was closed down who did the same thing.

I'm still not convinced that those people have won their battle of shutting MD down. I still feel like it's just a sign of the times....there are so many other sites of this nature on the web now....general dating sites, specific type dating sites, social networking sites....there are simply more places for people to choose from.
Lots of of us "old-timers" still remain here though....and this old-timer specifically plans to stay on & welcome any new people who wish to join us & participate!

Lissy is right...it's a KNOWN FACT that people did this...somewhere I have a copy of a blog written on another site posting links to a number of review sites where these people went for the sole purpose of bashing MD. I blogged about it, but have since deleted it, as I do most of my blogs. If I find the links again, I will repost them so you can all go and counter the negative reviews these disgruntled former members left all over the internet.

I keep intending to do this, but am never really on other sites long enough to do so, lol. I have, however, recruited a few people from other sites to here, and continue to do so. I have also considered asking MD if they would like to place a banner on my website.

I've never used a 'fake' profile.......just not updated an old one. OK, so cuff me.
I've introduced some short stories in my blogs in the hope that it will attract more people to this site. I cannot do any more to make it of further interest to people.
MD is an honest web site if you care to get into the community spirit of the whole thing.
Do not let chance pass you by, ladies.

I've been on a few other sites over the years, but left because they turned out to be nothing more than advertisements for even more sites/members were fake people ( who knows who was really answering the emails?...). There were a few pay sites where people never replied when emailed...
I like it here, though the only real complaint I have, is when I email somebody that I've exchanged emails with before, and never get a reply...JEN...
